Insider Patch Notes 3.7.2.1

Insider Update 3.7.2.1 is now live. This build now returns to previewing features which will release in future updates. With this update, Insiders have access to the Custom Seas Free Camera and announced Season 20 experiments, with a new location for the Chest of Fortune.

If you encounter any bugs while playing in Insiders, please head to the Sea of Thieves support site and report an issue with our Player Support team.

Custom Seas

Free Camera

  • Within a Custom Seas session, Session Leaders now have access to a Free Camera, along with the ability to share access permissions with others during a session.

  • The Free Camera can be accessed from the Quick Command Menu, and various camera settings allow for a customised experience ranging from movement speed, field of view, depth of field and manipulating environmental conditions.

  • The Free Camera can be moved manually, or locked onto players, ships or creatures for a dynamic shot.

The current settings of the Free Camera are considered placeholder and are still being tweaked by the team.

Legendary Locations

  • Custom Seas sessions can now take place in a variety of iconic locations from Sea of Thieves. Legendary Locations include Old Sailor Isle, Tribute Peak, The Glorious Sea Dog Tavern and The Damned Sea Dog Tavern.

Season 19

Stash Voyages

  • Players progressing through the new Season Pass can now earn playable Voyages, providing access to A Sailor's Stash, A Cannoneer's Stash and A Bombardier's Stash.

  • Stash Voyages have a chance of being a 'lucky' stash, offering roughly the same items but in much larger quantities.

To facilitate Insider testing, Stash Voyages have been granted to all Insiders and can be started from the Limited Voyages tab on the Quest Table.

Season 20

Deeds & Season Renown

  • Season 20 no longer operates with an ‘Act’ structure, and with the launch of Custom Seas players can now progress a range of time-limited Deeds exclusively within Custom Seas to earn a bonus to their Season progression.

Experiment - Emergent Chest of Fortune

  • During Season 20, the Chest of Fortune will no longer be confined to a single World Event and will instead have the chance to be found across a range of emergent World Events.

  • The following emergent World Events will have a chance for the Chest of Fortune to become part of the treasure on completion: Skeleton Forts, Reaper Fortresses, Fort of Fortune, Ashen Winds, Skeleton Fleets, Ghost Fleets, the Burning Blade and the Fort of the Damned.

  • Vanquishing one of these emergent World Events can reward one of three loot hauls: a regular loot pile, a lesser chance for a regular loot pile with a Chest of Fortune or a rare chance for a regular loot pile and 3 Chests of Fortune.

This is an experiment that will be run in the Live game. The results of this experiment will inform future plans. At this stage, the experiment is not a commitment to a more permanent change to the experience in future.

Updates

Retrieving Supplies from Outpost Vendors

  • Further improvements have been made to supplies purchased from the Merchant Alliance or Hunter’s Call, providing a more consistent delivery after purchasing.

Known Issues

Pirate Emporium

  • Entering the Pirate Emporium may occasionally display an empty store with no items shown.

  • Localisation tags should no longer appear in the victory banner.

  • The lighting inside the Winners’ Tunnel should now better match the view seen through the portal.

Visual and Audio

  • Certain pirate body types now correctly hold stolen throwing knives.

  • A brief green visual effect seen after entering the loser tunnel in Last Ship Standing has been removed.

User Interface

  • Pirate Emporium emote previews now display correctly, ensuring key elements are visible.

  • The Remove Ship button now behaves consistently.

Text and Localisation

  • Russian localisation for the Siren Leader notification has been corrected.

Performance and Stability

  • Improvements have been made to game stability within Custom Seas, to reduce scenarios where players unexpectedly exit the game or become disconnected from their session.
