Insider Patch Notes 3.7.1.6

Insider Update 3.7.1.6 is now live. As we approach the scheduled release of May’s update, the next three Insider builds will become focused on finalising this release. This means that the feature set and builds delivered to Insiders will now closely resemble what will be available in the final release.

Insiders once gain have access to Last Ship Standing for testing and can try out new stock that will be heading to Outpost and Pirate Emporium stores in the next update.

If you encounter any bugs while playing in Insiders, please head to the Sea of Thieves support site and report an issue with our Player Support team.

Gameplay Improvements

Shrinking Battle Bounds Improvements

  • The audio and visual treatment of the Seas of Fate found at the edge of Faction battles has been improved to address player feedback.

  • Crews sailing into the Battle Bounds will find the sea retains its deep red colour to signify the perilous nature of sailing near to the edge. The player’s screen, however, will no longer turn red and will instead shift to greyscale, ensuring players retain the danger cue but can still stay competitive during the battle.

  • When players are caught in the Battle Bounds, the audio mix has been softened to continue providing the danger cue but not overwhelming players navigating through the perilous zone.

Last Ship Standing

Last Ship Standing

  • Last Ship Standing supports both Solo and Duo Sloops and will be available for all three hardening builds of this Insider phase. The mode will be available for Season 19: Act 3, and will return regularly as part of the Live Events Calendar.

  • Storage Crates now contain more resources to support the longer, multi‑ship battles in this mode.

  • The audio and visual improvements made to the shrinking Battle Bounds listed above have also been brought into Last Ship Standing to provide the same experience during play.

Known Issues

Last Ship Standing

  • Cannons may not be loadable or unloadable while travelling through the second tunnel into a match.

  • It’s currently possible to skip the arrival tunnel and enter a match early by closing the game during the departure tunnel.

  • Rejoining a session while in the departure tunnel may cause players to surface outside their ship when entering a match.

  • The winners’ portal may appear at the start of a match after voting to requeue.

  • Players are unable to cancel matchmaking while travelling through the arrival tunnel.

  • Players invited into a solo match may repeatedly fall beneath the map when the crew wins or loses.

Fixed Issues

Gameplay

  • Players arriving in a session during the Bilge Rats Weekender should now consistently find that their Challenge Checklist shows the challenges as intended.

  • Diving to a Raid Voyage will now progress correctly instead of completing immediately after surfacing.

  • Traveling through the Tunnels of the Damned will now continue smoothly if the ship’s captain leaves and rejoins the crew mid-migration.

  • Players enabling Streamer Mode will find that Guild ship names are now hidden promptly after the setting is enabled.

Last Ship Standing

  • Missing collision beneath the lighthouse towers has been restored, preventing players from becoming stuck.

  • Fog visuals are now present in the winners’ tunnel.

  • Map Tables in Last Ship Standing now hide standard world map symbols as intended.

  • Allegiance rewards for the last ship eliminated are now granted at the correct amount.

  • Rock collision has been adjusted to prevent players hiding inside terrain.

  • Fog effects now display correctly underwater without unnaturally darkening the sea.

  • Battle Bounds now progress through all phases at the correct pace.

  • Region icons on the Map Table now fade correctly when zooming in.

  • Map Table visuals and ship visibility have been made consistent across the mode.

  • Selling an Emissary Flag earned in a match now correctly progresses the related Deed.

  • Players now receive clear messaging when their win streak increases.

  • Matches now begin reliably after resurfacing into the arena.

  • Ship interactions across the mode now respond consistently.

  • Flame effects around the Lost Freedom Ruins now appear in the correct position.

  • Lighthouse textures at the Fingers of Dread now align properly with surrounding rocks.

  • Placeholder text has been removed from all Last Ship Standing messaging.

  • Players in the losers’ tunnel can now vote to rematch as expected.

  • Lighting transitions in the arrival tunnel are now smoother.

  • Ship trinkets no longer linger on the War Map after winning a match.

  • Ships will no longer collide with underwater rocks when surfacing into a match.

  • Terrain in the arrival tunnel now loads smoothly as players move through it.

  • Rejoining a session after being sunk will no longer grant a new ship.

  • Ships can no longer be positioned in terrain in ways that make them difficult to sink.

  • Portal notifications now display with the correct icon.

  • Players will no longer become stuck on a server if a match starts during tunnel transitions.

  • Reconnecting in the winners’ tunnel now places players correctly instead of returning them to the arena.

  • Hourglass notifications no longer appear at the start of matches.

  • Battle Bounds visuals now clear cleanly once a match has ended.

  • Champion status notifications now display the correct messaging.

  • Faction toasts now show the correct message during Last Ship Standing.

Environment

  • Tight collision spaces at Picaroon Palms have been adjusted to prevent players becoming stuck.

  • Grapple Gun movement on Crescent Isle has been corrected to prevent climbing onto the cave ceiling.

  • An unintended red glow at Ruby’s Fall has been removed for more natural lighting.

Visual and Audio

  • Visual clarity has been improved for Faction Battle Bounds, with ships remaining greyscale and only the sea indicating the arena edge.

  • Spirit of Blackwyche weapon handles now sit correctly for all body types.

  • Loot placed in the Treasury of the Secret Wilds now rests naturally on the ground.

  • Marketing art for the Dark Warsmith Big Bundle has been corrected to match the contents.

Text and Localisation

  • The Secret Shipment loss banner now displays correct, fully localised text without placeholder tags.

Performance and Stability

  • Improved game performance when browsing and selecting items from the Clothing Chest.
