Insider Patch Notes 3.7.0.4

Insider Update 3.7.0.4 is now live. In this update, Insiders can test the fully active Bilge Rats Weekender with decorated Outposts, rotating fireworks displays, Larinna’s Bilge Rats Black Market and enjoy improved performance from reduced gameplay and UI frame drops.

If you encounter any bugs while playing in Insiders, please head to the Sea of Thieves support site and report an issue with our Player Support team.

Insider Programme

Insider Pirate Wipe

  • To facilitate the testing of upcoming Doubloon wallet functionality, all Insider pirates have been wiped to allow all players to begin a fresh playthrough on a new pirate. Head to the notice on the Insider Forums for more information and full instructions on how to enter the game after a wipe.

Bilge Rats Weekender

During this Insiders Update, the Bilge Rats Weekender will be live for the duration to facilitate testing, with all prior features announced in the Developer Update

  • now available for testing, aside from Duke, who will be returning at a later date.*

Island Decorations

  • Outposts and Seaposts will be decorated during the Bilge Rats Weekender, with banners, bunting and Tavern updates to celebrate the Weekender and bring in the party atmosphere.

Fireworks Displays and Crates

  • During the Weekender, each evening at 9pm (in-game time) a select Outpost will host a fireworks display, complete with rousing musical score.

  • When speaking to Larinna, she will inform pirates on the schedule for upcoming shows allowing crews to plan their evening activities.

  • Players can join in the festivities by purchasing a Bilge Rats Fireworks Crate from Larinna.

Larinna

  • With the Weekender active, Larinna has moved inside the Tavern and features updated dialogue, details on the Event and fireworks and access to her Bilge Rats Black Market which will provide stock available for purchase with Doubloons.

The Bilge Rats Black Market stock currently available in Insiders is placeholder and is not representative of the stock intended for launch with the Weekender in April.

Doubloon Wallet Cap

  • Following the Doubloon Reset taking place on April 16th, Doubloon wallets will now have an earning cap limiting players to holding 4000 Doubloons. Pirates wishing to earn more will be required to spend their stash before being able to earn again.

To facilitate Insider testing, all newly created pirates will be boosted to 3800 Doubloons and can complete Bilge Rats Weekender challenges to earn Doubloons to test the Wallet cap functionality.

Gameplay Improvements

Shrinking Battle Bounds Visuals

  • The inner edge of the Battle Bounds has been made visually more defined to ensure crews can clearly see the point at which they will enter the Seas of Fate and risk losing their ship if they continue.

This is a further interim visual update to the Battle Bounds, with further improvements coming in a follow-up Insider update. A feedback thread will be provided once all improvements are in place to capture consolidated player feedback.

Performance Improvements

  • This update includes an improvement to a long-standing, common cause of frame drops during gameplay, improving overall performance and reducing UI-related hitches across menus.

Known Issues

Pirate Emporium

  • Players may see a blank page upon entering the Pirate Emporium.

Bilge Rats Weekender

  • The Bilge Rats Weekender Fireworks Crate does not become locked after it is purchased and currently shows an error if players attempt to re-purchase.

  • Fireworks music may restart and become out of sync if players arrive while a display is already in progress.

  • The Challenges parchment may sometimes fail to appear.

  • The Skeleton Lord Challenge may not unlock for the whole crew as intended.
