Insider Patch Notes 2.9.1.6
Intro
Insider Update 2.9.1.6 is now live. As we approach our December launch, the Insider build will align even more closely with the upcoming retail version of the game. Insiders will have the opportunity to test out the exciting Safer Seas feature and get a sneak peek at the amazing items that will be available at the Pirate Emporium in December.

Updates
Skull of Siren Song Frequency
- To ensure the Skull of Siren Song remains a coveted trophy for crews to contest, this Voyage will now become rarer on the seas. Keep a keen eye out for Briggsy’s note and get in the fight!
Known Issues
Safer Seas
- Players currently do not receive Trading Company reputation, gold or Tall Tale checkpoints on Safer Seas.
Gameplay
- ‘Shores of Gold’ – The Shroudbreaker is not appearing on ships, which prevents progress through the Tall Tale.
- Players may experience intermittent issues with Trading Company Shops and Outpost Stores in this Insider build, causing purchased items to not appear in their inventory.
Fixed Issues
Gameplay
- ‘The Legend of Monkey Island’ - Items held by players who teleport after wandering into fog will no longer reappear instantly.
- ‘The Lair of LeChuck’ - Missing memoir spots have been added around Mêlée Island.
- 'The Quest for Guybrush’ - When starting the Tall Tale from a Checkpoint after the Trial of Combat, the Legendary Machine should now be present in Captain Smirk's house.
- ‘The Lair of LeChuck’ - Players will now find that their sword blows land with more accuracy during the final battle with LeChuck.
- ‘The Lair of LeChuck’ - Players are now able to use the front chaser cannons on the Mad Monkey.
- 'The Lair of LeChuck’ - The Commendation for defeating LeChuck's ghost ship now appears as intended when the Commendation is unlocked.
Guilds
- After migrating across servers in a Guild session, the Guild Chronicle will continue to show up to date information.
- Players will now correctly receive the correct amount of Guild Reputation when delivering cargo.
Safer Seas
- Larinna’s shop is now available for purchase in Safer Seas sessions.
Skull of Siren Song
- Crews who have opted into the Voyage and attempt to Scuttle from the crew settings menu will now be moved out of harm’s way away from other crews, not towards Voyage objectives.
- When the Voyage is active on a server, but a crew has not opted in, losing their ship no longer places them near to other crews.
- Players can no longer stash Voyage items in an unreachable location on Port Merrick.
Environment
- ‘The Legend of Monkey Island’ - Several instances of items merging into parts of the environment have been addressed across all three Tall Tales.
- ‘The Legend of Monkey Island’ - Several instances of objects appearing to float and players being able to walk through objects and parts of the environment have been addressed across all three Tall Tales.
Visual and Audio
- 'The Legend of Monkey Island’ - The Mêlée Shopkeeper will now animate consistently across all Tall Tales he appears in.
- 'The Journey to Mêlée Island’ - All checkpoints in ‘The Journey to Mêlée Island’ will now have banners.
- 'The Lair of LeChuck’ - A wooden plaque has been added to the Scumm Bar that was used to hold Murray and the Cursed Captain.
- 'The Lair of LeChuck’ - The Giant Monkey Head’s ear will now appear consistently dark even when the player stands very close to it.
- 'The Quest for Guybrush’ - Water texture across this Tall Tale now appears correctly.
- The Courage of Captaincy Gloves no longer appear locked into one position when holding equipment.
Accessibility
- Text on the ‘Enter Name’ screen will now appear at the correct size when viewed in 4k resolution.
Text and Localisation
'The Lair of LeChuck’ - Subtitles from dialogue of characters in this Tall Tale will no longer appear on screen after players have exited the Tall Tale via the Portal.
Placeholder text is no longer visible in the daily section of Captain's Logbook.
