Insider Patch Notes 2.8.5.8
Insider Update 2.8.5.8 is now live. Insiders can now experience the third instalment of out Legend of Monkey Island Tall Tale - ‘The Lair of LeChuck’! Head to Captain Capsize’s tent at any Outpost to start your journey to the legendary Monkey Island today!

The Legend of Monkey Island
‘The Lair of LeChuck’
- Now that pirates have forced Guybrush Threepwood back to reality, "The Lair of LeChuck" takes pirates on an adventure alongside Guybrush and his crew to the iconic Monkey Island in search of LeChuck and Elaine, and to put an end to whatever dastardly plans LeChuck has for the Sea of Thieves.
- To start this new adventure players should head over to Captain Kate's tent at any Outpost and cast their vote on the new Tall Tale book and then prepare for adventure.
Known Issues
‘The Lair of LeChuck’
- Players will be unable to get to the end of the Lava Tunnels section underneath the Monkey Head.
- Players will be unable to progress through the Tale if they interact with Herman's trap too quickly between interactions. Please wait around 3 seconds between interactions to be on the safe side.
- Players are unable to interact with one of Herman's Notes, making the related Commendation unable to be unlocked.
- During the Cereal Box section of the Tale, key items that are set to disappear will not reappear as they are supposed to.
- The Banana Tree Memoir Location on Monkey Island does not currently display the “Take a Seat” prompt over the crates as intended.
- Subtitles in the Tunnel of the Damned contain placeholder names for characters.
Pirate Emporium
- The Lucky Deal and Pocket Pet Serpent Emotes both have incorrect narration.
Fixed Issues
Pirate Emporium
- The Pocket Pet Serpent now has sound effects as intended.
- The description for the Captain Kate Capsize Costume (No Hat) now displays the correct text.
- The LeChuck Costume now fits all sizes of pirates appropriately.
Text and Localisation
- Mysterious Stranger Tankard no longer uses placeholder text.
- The text description for the Orange and Pink Bandanas is now correct.
