Updates

Musical Hit Audio Effects

  • Within the Audio Settings, players now have direct control of musical effects heard when attacking ships and striking enemies. A new volume slider provides players control over these hit effects, allowing other game music to be controlled independently.

Sailing Audio Accessibility Improvements

  • Within the Audio Settings, players now have access to a new setting to enhance the audio effects heard while sailing at sea to aid in navigation. This setting is Off by default, however when enabled improves the audio cues around navigational threats like sea rocks, allowing players to hear the approaching threat and navigate around more easily.

Known Issues

Barrel Inventory

  • Players retrieving items from a Barrel will currently be unable to place items back into that Barrel.

Skull of Destiny

  • The Reapers will not currently accept the Skull of Destiny when attempting to cash in.

New Golden Sands

  • Many of the new additions or changes to New Golden Sands Outpost are still a work in progress. Because of this, players may experience issues or see visual imperfections when traversing around the Outpost.

Video Playback

  • Windows 10 players may experience instances where the new intro video does not begin after logging in.
  • Videos within the What’s New section may freeze or display a black screen when watching.
  • Players on Console may experience some visual stuttering after arriving in the game after watching a video from the front-end menu.

Fixed Issues

Gameplay

  • Supply barrels jettisoned from a ship will now be more spread out, ensuring they do not intersect with each other when surfacing.

World Events

  • The Final wave music for skeleton fleet battles will no longer play immediately after defeating the second wave.

Battle for the Sea of Thieves

  • Players who sneak onboard another faction ship and attempt to use ship interactables as it dives beneath the waves will retain control when returning to their ship.
  • Ships that dive below the waves looking for opponents should now be automatically repaired even when damaged prior to them diving.
  • Company reputation and Faction allegiance is now rewarded when emissary flags are handed in to the Reapers Bones skeleton at outposts.
  • Players will no longer be placed in the water next to their ship upon cancelling matchmaking.

Captains of Adventure

  • The Seeker of Athena's Fortune commendation will now update correctly when players purchase Captained Athena's Fortune voyages from the Shipwright.

New Golden Sands

  • Players are no longer able to get under the environment by shooting themselves through a ships cannon.
  • Rain is no longer visibly coming through the walls and roof of the lighthouse building.
