Insider Patch Notes 2.7.3.3

Insider Update 2.7.3.3 is now live. Skeleton ships and Megalodons take the main focus this week as our newest set of rebalanced encounters hit Insiders! So, grab your friends or go in alone, see how you fare, then tell us how it all went down – the highs and the lows – over on the Insider Forums.

As always, if you encounter any bugs, then please head to the Sea of Thieves support site and let our Player Support team know.

World Events

Pirate crews of all shapes and sizes will now find the range of world events now adapt to the size of the crew – making things a little easier for that lone wolf crew of one, and harder for the crew of four who love a challenge. To aid with the testing of these changes, only these world events will be available within this Insider build, along with the Fort of the Damned.

Skeleton Fleet Rebalance

  • Crews will now find the skeleton ships that attack during the skeleton fleet world events dynamically scale to the number of players within a crew taking part as well as the number of ships.
  • The firing rate for Skeleton Galleons will now change depending on the size of the crew taking part in the event.
  • Skeletons that repair the lower decks on a Galleon Fleet will now reappear less frequently once defeated. All skeletons except for skeletons sailing smaller ships have also had their health reduced, allowing boarders to more quickly dispatch them during an encounter.
  • The use of purple Cursed Cannonballs during an encounter has also been reduced across all crew sizes.
  • The timing between waves has now been increased in order to give players more time to hunt for supplies. Galleon skeleton ships will now also drop two Storage Crates when sunk, giving players more even more chances to re-stock their supplies during battle.
  • The battle area for the Skeleton Fleet encounter has been increased.

Megalodon Rebalance

  • Attacks from a Megalodon can now be more easily interrupted by skilled crews. Crews on a Sloop or Brigantine now need to only land a single cannon shot to interrupt an attack, while Galleon crews will need to land two shots.

Updates

Skeleton Forms

  • When protected by their metal casing, gold skeletons will now take reduced damage from Blunderbuss and Flintlock shots, weaken them with water before attacking!

Known Issues

Skeleton Fleet Encounters

  • Skeleton Fleet encounters do not currently scale correctly for crews with multiple members and will currently feel more like a solo crew experience.
  • Players may experience an unintended wait between new waves of enemy ships appearing.

New Golden Sands Outpost

  • Many of the new additions or changes to New Golden Sands Outpost are still a work in progress. Because of this, players may experience issues or see visual imperfections when traversing around the Outpost.
  • Players sitting on benches within the tavern may find themselves moved to a safe location when standing up.

Fixed Issues

World Events

  • During the Fort of Damned, if players kill all the skeletons but leave 1-2 Captains, the next wave will not begin until those Captains have been killed too.
  • Visibility during the Ashen Lord’s Ash Cloud attack has been improved.

Captains of Adventure

  • The Events Log will no longer show blank pages.

New Golden Sands Outpost

  • The bridges’ stone decal no longer overlaps on to emote props, making them look invisible.
  • Rain is no longer coming through the walls of the lighthouse building.
  • Items no longer appear to float when placed on the roof of the Gold Hoarders or Order of Souls buildings.
  • Items placed around the edges of the lighthouse will no longer appear to float.
  • Player will no longer appear partially in a rock/stone structure when loading in via the A Pirate’s Life menu option.
  • The gap at side of the central docking island bridge archway no longer allows players to see through to the water below.
  • There is no longer a visual texture seam around or on many areas of New Golden Sands Outpost.

Visual and Audio

  • The Chests of Fortune Commendations now have final iconography.
  • The Burning Blade Voyages will no longer appear as purchasable Voyages while the Ghost Fleet Encounter active.
  • There will no longer be a noticeable gap where the Reaper’s Chest beacon disappears and reappears when you pick it up.
  • The Disable Blur option now continues to work after migrating from traveling through the Tunnel of the Damned.
  • Certain Firework Crates now display what can be stored in them via categories.
  • The Skull of Destiny Voyage notifications for selling and discovering the Skull have now been updated to their final artwork and text.
  • The Black Powder Stash Voyages have now been updated to use their final names, descriptions, and artwork.

Text and Localisation

  • The Title and description for the Skull of Destiny Voyage Bundle in the Shipwright Shop have now been corrected.
  • The "Restore My Ship" option now displays correctly in all languages.
  • The Shipwright's second dialogue option has now been translated into multiple languages.
  • The prompt for ‘Show/Hide Tall Tale’ has now been translated into multiple languages.
  • The "Browse Captain's Voyages" prompt now appears correctly in all languages.
