Insider Update 2.7.3.1 is now live. As we come out of our stabilisation phase for February’s release, all future features are back on! As players can now try out our rebalanced fort world events, whether you’re going it alone or tagging along with a friend these new changes will see your strength tested. Take to the seas and once you have given it a try let us know what you think.

Pirate crews of all shapes and sizes will now find the range of world events now adapt to the size of the crew, making things easier for that lone wolf crew of one and harder for the crew of four who loves a challenge. To aid with the testing of these changes only these world events will currently be available within this Insiders build.
Skeleton Forts Rebalancing
• Crews will now find the skeletons summoned during the Skeleton Fort dynamically scale to the number of players taking part. The number of skeletons, their health and even their behaviour now reflects the size of the attacking pirate force.
• Crews reaching the final stage of the encounter will now face off against a Skeleton Lord of suitable difficulty, ensuring that solo pirates and alliance crews alike can enjoy this thrilling encounter.
• Throughout the Fort, resources are now much more plentiful and Weapon Chests have been added allowing players to switch their loadout for the battle!
Fort of the Damned Rebalancing
• Crews taking on this wicked encounter will find the Shadows of Fate that defend this Fort will now dynamically scale to the number of pirates storming the Fort. Pirates will also now only encounter a single colour shadow during a wave and no longer experience mixed waves.
• Crews will now face off against Shadow Captains during the encounter, and pirates reaching the final wave will face off against the Ghost of Greymarrow, whose health and damage has now been rebalanced.
• Resources have been replenished around the Fort, crews can find more food barrels each stacked with a range of fruit, along with additional Ammo boxes and a Weapons chest.
Pro tip: To help Insiders get testing faster, players are advised to acquire the ‘Skull of Destiny’ from the Legendary voyage of the same name as this special skull can light all the brasiers and act as a ritual skull.
Flameheart’s Ghost Fleet Encounter Returns
• Captain Flameheart’s Ghost Fleet encounter returns once again! Crews must face off with ghost ships summoned through the rift before facing off against Flameheart’s flagship the Burning Blade.
• After Flameheart’s resurrection, he no longer watches over this encounter, however crews should look for a swirling tornado in the sky to indicate this encounter had arrived!
Reapers Chests
- The beacon visible from across the seas that highlights a Reapers Chest or Reapers Bounty will now stay visible even when the chest is collected by players. Pirates can now use the beacon along with the Ship’s Map table icon to track this valuable cargo being transported by rival crews.
Athena’s Fortune Voyages
- Players visiting the Pirate Lord are now presented with two full pages of Voyages to choose from.
Resource Container Limits
- All resource containers, including barrels, merchant crates and rowboat seats now show clearly the total amount of items in each category that are being stored. As players stack these containers they can now easily see how close the category is to reaching its limit.
Trading Company Reputation
Within the Pirates Log, the Reputation page has now been redesigned with a simpler overview better visualizing the breadth of trading companies and a pirates progress.
Along with this new redesign, the Reputation page now also provides a dedicated space for players to pin three companies of their choice, allowing them to keep a keen eye on their rank.
Commendations
• New Commendations ‘Reapers Riches’ and ‘Fortune’s Favour’ currently contain placeholder imagery and text. As these commendations are still very much a work in progress, the team are not currently looking for any feedback on them.
Fort of the Damned
• If players defeat all skeletons whilst one or two captains are alive, the next wave will start.
Gameplay
• Using a mouse to select items on the equipment radial while switching radial tabs no longer causes the menu to flicker.
• Players can no longer retrieve items with the Harpoon through a Shipwreck's Hull
• Phantoms attack radiuses have now been reduced to stop their long range attack from classing as a hit to the player without even actually hitting them.
Battle for the Sea of Thieves
• After passing through the Tunnels of the Damned, players should still be able to move freely and interact with their ship.
• Becoming a Servant Champion no longer unlocks the achievement ‘Become Pirate Legend’.
Captains of Adventure
• The tutorial notification for handing in Hunters Call items to the Sovereigns will now only be shown once.
• Crews on a captained ship who have the skeleton curse equipped and complete a ghost ship battle from a captains voyage, will now has this counted towards the ‘Bone Voyage’ commendation.
Voyages
• Multiple flame visual effects on the Skull of Destiny will no longer appear layered when the flame colour is changed quickly.
• The Skull of Destiny's loot notification has now been updated to use its finalised text.
• Ashen Bounty voyages now use the Ashen paper as intended.
Pirate Emporium • The Emote narration for ‘Pocket Pebble’ has now been corrected.
Visual and Audio
• All pirates of any body type will no longer intersect with the pillars on a sloop.
• When players hit the max number of items they can hold in their inventory the item count will be displayed in red as intended.
• If players try to sleep on their ships bed as the same time as their pet they will no longer intersect with each other.
Accessibility • The prompt for the skeleton in the store room at Royal Crest sea fort has been made more descriptive for screen readers.
Performance and Stability • Reduced instances of server instability that cause players to be disconnected from their session.
