Insider Patch Notes 2.7.2.5

Insider Update 2.7.2.5 is now live. With new items in the Pirate Emporium and a range of new Voyage and Gameplay Improvements available there is plenty for Insiders to test in this update!

As always, if you encounter any bugs, then please head to the Sea of Thieves support site and let our Player Support team know.

Pirate Emporium

Infinite Depths Ship Bundle

  • Follow in the footsteps of fellow outlaws beneath distant stars with this rebellious ship set. Excludes Collector's variants.
  • Pirates looking for just the core components of this ship set can purchase the Infinite Depths Essential Bundle.

Infinite Depths Costume

  • Blending traditional armor and piratical style, this costume makes a masterful addition to any pirates Clothing Chest.
  • Players can also perform the constant companion costume emote. Even in the toughest of battles, the figure inside this music box brings you comfort when performing this costume emote.

Infinite Depths Weapons Bundle

  • With their unearthly sheen, these alien designs aren't quite like anything else you can find on the Sea of Thieves.

Infinite Depths Weapon Poses

  • Face anything the future can throw at you with this supply of weapon-specific emotes.

Armour Mock Freebie Emote

  • While it's a reach to say this borrowed move will protect you from anything, it does at least make you feel a bit safer.

Pirate Legend Voyages

The Legendary Search for Cursed Treasure

  • This new Captains Voyage exclusive to Pirate Legends aims to test Captains sailing skills against the hazards that accursed treasure may bring.
  • Legends will be provided with a Wayfinder of Legends Compass to seek out a range of Cursed Chests buried on nearby islands, but beware of skeletons looking to protect their horde!

Gameplay Improvements

Captain’s Supply & Voyage Shop Improvements

  • Captains browsing the exclusive services available from the Shipwright will now find a new categorised menu allows faster access to the Voyages or Supplies the Crew needs.

Ship Scuttle Improvements

  • Crews who scuttle their Ship at any time on the seas are now sent to a sinking wreck sequence and moved to another Server, providing crews with a predictable way of leaving a server behind for a fresh encounter on likely calmer waters.

Chest of Sorrow Balancing

  • Crews recovering a Chest of Sorrow during their journey will now find that the weeping now fills the each ship at a much slower rate.

Known Issues

Pirate Emporium

  • Some of the new items within the Pirate Emporium still contain placeholder text and imagery which do not represent the final implementation.

Skull of Destiny

  • When picking up the Skull of Destiny, the crew are not currently notified that the Skull has been picked up.

Pirate Loadouts

  • Players’ default pirate cosmetics, emotes and shanties may be missing when starting a session.

New Golden Sands

  • Construction of the New Golden Sands outpost is currently still a work in progress and does not reflect the final implementation.

Fixed Issues

Gameplay

  • Players attempting to stand on a Barrel attached to a Ship’s harpoon will now find they slip off into the water.

Skull of Destiny Voyage

  • The first Skull of Destiny dug up on a new server now appears visually correct before it is picked up.

  • A Skull of Destiny will now always cycle through colours in the same order, even when placed down and picked up repeatedly.

  • The Skull of Destiny Voyage now uses appropriate artwork on the Voyage banners.

  • Pirates will now encounter the Flames of Fate skeletons while progressing the Voyage.

Environment

  • Harpoons located at the Sovereigns will once again be able to fire down at all angles to retrieve treasure from the ships below and not hit an invisible surface.
  • Improvements to the stone structures around New Golden Sands.
  • Rain should no longer be spotted within the tunnels on the southwest side of the island during a storm.
  • The Boar plaque within the tavern is now centered.

Text and Localisation

  • Players attempting to hand in Quest Items inside a Collector’s Chest will now see the prompt correctly refer to the item being Given, rather than Sold.

Performance and Stability

  • Improved server stability to reduce instances where players are disconnected from their session.
