Insider Update 2.7.2.4 is now live. New additions to the Pirate Emporium will help you get locked and loaded, ready to take on anything the Sea of Thieves will throw at you with our new Infinite Depths cosmetics inspired by a masterful combatant.
As always, if you encounter any bugs, then please head to the
Sea of Thieves support site and let our Player Support team know.
Gameplay Improvements
Athena’s Fortune Emissary Flags
- Athena’s Fortune Emissary flags can now be traded to the Mysterious Stranger in return for Gold and Reputation, ensuring crews who recover these flags from same faction battles have a quicker route to handing in and rejoining the fight.
Food Radial
- When holding some food, players can now access a Food Radial using B on Controller or R on Keyboard to select a specific food from the inventory.
Bait Crate
A new type of resource crate is now on offer from the Merchant Alliance and Hunter’s Call – the Bait Crate. The crates will be filled with enough grubs, worms and leeches to keep any fishing enthusiast happy for days!
These new bait crates will set players back 5,000 Gold and can also be sold back to the Merchant Alliance, Hunters Call, Reapers Bones and Sovereigns.
Trading Company Voyages
- When purchasing Trading Company Voyages the company representatives will no longer only refresh their choice of voyages after a day and will now offer pirates fresh voyages as soon as one has been purchased.
- When browsing the range of Voyages available to your rank, every type of voyage is now offered on the voyage selection page for purchase.
- Pirates can now also purchase and hold up to twelve voyages in their inventory. Bilge Rat voyages (excluding the Athena’s Run) continue to not be counted towards this limit.
Outpost Cosmetics
Mauve Majestic Sovereign Clothing
- The Outpost clothing shops now stock the Mauve Majestic Sovereign clothing set, available to purchase for gold.
Vanity Items
- A range of new items have arrived at the Clothing Stores, giving pirates more options to customise their look. The Low Tied hair, Twin Tails beard and new tattoo can now be purchased with Gold.
Updates
Captain’s Logbook
- The change to the Captain’s logbook to support a hold interaction to pick up has now been reverted and will be held for a future release. We would like to thank players for their valuable feedback!
Ghost Ship Damage Balancing
- Damage taken by player ships when engaging in battle with a Ghost ship has been reduced. Ships colliding with a ghostly ship will now result in reduced hull damage.
Known Issues
Pirate Emporium
- Some of the new items within the Pirate Emporium still contain placeholder text and imagery which do not represent the final implementation.
Skull of Destiny
- When picking up the Skull of Destiny, the crew are not currently notified that the Skull has been picked up.
Pirate Loadouts
- Players’ default pirate cosmetics, emotes and shanties may be missing when starting a session.
New Golden Sands
- Construction of the New Golden Sands outpost is currently still a work in progress and does not reflect the final implementation.
Fixed Issues
Gameplay
- The Ship’s Ammo Box and Armoury will remain locked even after migrating across servers.
- The Athena's Firework Crates obtained participating in a Black Powder Stash Voyage will now always contain an Athena Firework.
Captains of Adventure
- After migrating to a different server, the 'Placed by' information for a Trinket will continue to show the correct gamertag.
- Players can no longer equip the same trinket in multiple locations over the maximum limit.
- Ashen Gold Hoarder Commissions quests now include a Wayfinder Voyage.
- The island icons for arriving at islands now appear in the Events Log.
Visual and Audio
