Insider Patch Notes 2.7.1.2
Insider Update 2.7.1.2 is now live. The Season Eight team will be dropping some improvements to the matchmaking flow as we will now be introducing same faction battles, where players will be able to fight other crews aligned to the same faction as them. Choose your faction and unfurl the war map to battle for bragging rights and glory within your faction.

Adventures
‘The Secret Wilds’
- ‘The Secret Wilds’ Adventure continues to be disabled in Insiders. This Adventure will return to Insiders soon in a future update.
Battle for the Sea of Thieves
Same Faction Battles
- To aid in finding quicker matches, pirates now have the opportunity to battle against other crews from the same faction.
- Crews will vote on the war map as normal and will begin searching for an opponent in a rival faction as priority however, after a period of time where a rival has not been found the search for crews will expand and can then include those from the same faction.
- These skirmishes within a faction will play out in exactly the same way as a traditional battle, with Allegiance, Hourglass Value and Streaks all continuing to be earned. Most Commendations and Captaincy Milestones will also continue to progress, omitting those that specifically involve the opposing faction.

Storage Crate Pricing
- Storage Crates have now been reduced in price, and can now be purchased from the Merchant Alliance for 5,000 Gold instead of the original 17,500 Gold.

Digging
- Players are currently be unable to dig with their shovel.
Fixed Issues
Gameplay
- Chests held by another player will no longer float in mid-air after being harpooned.
- Krakens can longer appear and attack players ships whilst they are traversing the Tunnels of the Damned.
- Letters of Recommendation can no longer be purchased repeatedly from Larinna’s stock shop.
- ‘Dark Brethren’ Tall Tale – when players go to pick up the Siren Heart from Jack sparrow whilst holding an item, their item will now drop down from their hands preventing the Sirens Heart from disappearing.
Battle for the Sea of Thieves
- Quickly rotating the Hourglass of Fate and joining a faction should now consistently display the correct faction alignment.
- Crews should no longer experience the rare scenario where they surfaced for battle and found another battle already taking place there.
Captains of Adventure
- Completing 'A Commission of the Ancient Veil' now updates the milestone for the 'A Veteran Voyager' achievement as intended.
- As the ship is sinking the Captains Log's interaction prompt now disappears.
- Days in events log now track correctly.
Some Legend of the Veil events now have the correct text on the pages of the Logbook.
When players change their ship announcement banner, they no longer have to leave and enter the radius for it to show up again.
Game Events
- Festival of Giving fireworks crates no longer have [Placeholder] present on its open tooltip.
New Golden Sands
- Players will no longer be able to see through the stone staircase on the East Island.
- Players will no longer safe teleport when jumping into the right side of the Emporium canons.
Pirate Emporium
- The players hands no longer intersect into the top of the barrel when reloading the Soaring Oracle Eye of Reach.
- Descriptions are now present for a range of items for sale within the Emporium.
Environment
Visual and Audio
- Scooping audio will no longer play when using a Bucket on a dry deck or island.
Performance and Stability
- Experimental improvements to server performance to reduce rubberbanding and client stutters.
