Insider Patch Notes 2.5.2.1

Insider Update 2.5.2.1 is now live. With May’s update heading out to Retail later this week, Insiders are switching back to previewing upcoming features.

Captains of the Damned has returned, set sail as a captain ship from the Front End. The ‘Lost Sands’ adventure is also active, head to Larinna to pick up this next adventure!

As always, if you encounter any bugs, then please head to the Sea of Thieves support site and let our Player Support team know.

Known Issues

‘Lost Sands’

Crews choosing the Servant’s Quest will find the quest does not progress once players reach the nearby rowboat leaving players unclear on how to proceed - Insiders should therefore continue to focus on Merrick’s quest at this stage

  • Players cannot progress the Servant of the Flame's Chapter beyond Reaper's Hideout - Please avoid this Chapter altogether, this will be available in a future build
  • Players beginning the Adventure from Larinna will not receive a note, directing them to their next location. Head to Golden Sands to find Merrick to complete the chapter.
  • Merrick will not currently accept full Wood or Fruit Crates from players.
  • Crews migrating across servers while the Adventure is active will stop players from being able to progress the Adventure.
  • The Adventure contains a range of placeholder artwork, imagery and text. The team are not currently looking for feedback on these clear placeholder areas of the experience.

Applying Decorations & Saving Ship Liveries

  • Permanently applying ship liveries to a Captain Ship currently causes client instability. Saving Ship Liveries and Applying Decorations have therefore been disabled in this build.

Fixed Issues

  • Players completing the Hunter of the Shrouded Ghost commendation are now awarded the Shrouded Ghost Figurehead.

  • On starting the Adventure the Captain’s Table now uses an appropriate quest book.

  • Starting a Captain session on a ship previously destroyed should now provide players with a ship in seaworthy state and not leaking water.

Legend of the Veil Voyage

  • Crews approaching the Haunted Fort at the end of the Legend of the Veil Voyage will no longer find themselves disconnected from the game and returned to the front-end menu.
  • Treasure items left untouched following a Haunted Island encounter should no longer disappear if the Veil stone is used prior to collecting the rewards.
