Insider Patch Notes 2.10.2.12
Insider Update 2.10.2.12 is now live. In this latest Insider update, players can experience the power of the Burning Blade ship and its impressive arsenal, which includes the fearsome Ashen Roar. Additionally, Insiders are encouraged to provide feedback on the enhancements made to the HDR settings, which aim to provide a better gaming experience across all platforms.

Season 13
The Burning Blade Technical Test
- Insiders are once again welcome to take charge of an early iteration of the Burning Blade. The primary focus of this initial trial is the sailing mechanics of this new ship.
- Find the foreboding vessel anchored close to the Glorious Sea Dog tavern or on the World Map in case it has already been taken over by other Insiders.
The Ashen Roar
- Insiders also have the chance to try out the Ashen Roar in this update, a powerful flamethrower at the front of the ship, to improve their naval battle skills while navigating on the Burning Blade.
Updates
Improved HDR Experience
- All platforms have received a suite of changes to improve the Sea of Thieves experience when played on a HDR supported screen. As changes to the experience have been made, it is advised that players perform HDR calibration from the game settings.
- HDR has received a refreshed tone-mapping, better matching the Sea of Thieves colour palette with SDR while keeping those HDR highlights.
- The default HDR brightness out of the box has now been increased, providing an improved experience for new players. It is still advised that new players perform HDR calibration.
Known Issues
PlayStation®5
- Our latest insiders build on PlayStation 5 has a known instability issue during Rest/Resume causing the title to exit unexpectedly. To aid in testing, please head here!
- When starting a Wayfinder Voyage, crews will find that the second stone door of Treasure Vaults do not currently open as expected.
Fixed Issues
Gameplay
- The report button will now appear the same whether the player is using a controller or a mouse.
- Players should no longer experience a delay when attempting to purchase a Plunder Pass from within their Pirate Log.
- Players can now successfully send Guild Invites to players who they are not Xbox friends with.
- Guild sessions should now start as intended.
- The Captain's Logbook is now present during the captained sessions.
- Platform-specific icons will now appear correctly throughout the game when playing on Xbox.
PlayStation 5
- The controller vibration intensity settings now function correctly and change based on the player’s input in the settings menu.
- Players joining a session will now see the host’s session settings rather than their own, as intended.
- Players on PlayStation will now be shown in the Guild Invite list as intended.
- Ship’s Crests now appear correctly on PlayStation 5.
- Disconnected crew members will now show the correct icon when viewed in the ‘My Crew’ menu.
- The ‘Set Sail’ lobby now displays the correct platform icons.
- Players hosting a session will be removed from the lobby after cancelling from the ‘Create Crew’ menu.
Bone Caller
- Bone Caller Skeletons will now disappear at the correct time and will not appear on sinking ships.
- Bone Caller Skeletons will now attack the correct target when fighting a Kraken.
Text and Localisation
- Several areas of text in the menus have been amended to aid legibility and increase resolution.
- An issue with overlapping text in the ‘Discover Tab’ has been fixed in the Russian translation.
- The Owl section of the Pirate Emporium no longer features placeholder text.
Performance and Stability
- Improved server stability to avoid instances where players are disconnected from their session.
