Insider Patch Notes 2.0.23.3
Insider Update 2.0.23.3 is now live! Head to the Outpost shops to purchase anything you may have missed, then visit the Merchants to stock up on crates and prepare your ship for setting sail! With Season Two beginning to arrive in Insiders, unlock new progression, rewards and Trials alongside gameplay improvements.

Season Two
With new progression, rewards to earn, Trials to tackle and even a new Plunder Pass to purchase, there is plenty to sink your teeth into. For an overview of Season Two, head to this

Merchant Resource Crates
- The Merchant Alliance now offers pirates the ability to purchase resources straight from the Outpost to stock their ships ahead of a long Voyage.
- Cannonball, Fruit and Wood Plank Crates will come filled to the brim ready to be taken onboard.
- Storage Crates are supplied empty, providing plenty of space for the resources of your choice.
In a future Insider’s build, the Merchant Alliance will inform crews of Trade Routes across the seas where resources are in surplus and others in demand – allowing crews to begin trading resources.
Season Two Emissary Ledger Rewards
- Representing the Gold Hoarders in the ledgers can now earn the Tribute Peak Hull and Figurehead.
- Players seeking out the secrets of the Order of Souls can earn the Relic of Darkness Hull and Figurehead from the Ledgers.
- The Merchant Alliance honours ledger representatives with the Merchant Ambassador Hull and Figurehead.
- Flying the flag of the Reaper’s Bones and earning high ranks in the ledgers earns the Masked Renegade Hull and Figurehead.
- Legendary pirates representing Athena’s Fortune in the ledgers can earn the Legendary Spirit Pistol and Cutlass to show their allegiance to the Pirate Lord.
Gold Pouches
- When defeating Skeleton Captains across the Sea of Thieves, amongst the debris players will now find Gold Pouches left behind. Gold Pouches can be collected and earn instant gold for your crew.
- Skeleton Captains found emergently, through bounties and even during world events all now reward Gold Pouches.
Barrel Disguise Emote
- Unlocked at Tier 2 in this Season’s Rewards, players can now hide in plain sight using a regular old barrel!
Outpost Cosmetics
Cultured Aristocrat Set
- The Outpost shipwrights, along with the clothing, equipment and weapon shops, now offer the Cultured Aristocrat Set for purchase. Players must obtain the Curse of the Pacifists Demise Commendation to unlock access to this set.
Regal Sovereign Set
- The Outpost clothing shops now stock the Regal Sovereign Clothing Set, available to purchase for gold.
Legacy Event Cosmetics
Previous rewards from the Vault Raiders Event have now been added to the Outpost shops.
The Gold Hoarders Weapons can now be found in their respective stores, locked behind Commendations.
Updates
Phantoms
- Phantoms have now been disabled from emergent encounters and Skeletons have returned to take their place.
Thank you all for your feedback on our new land-based threat, the Phantoms will now be disabled while the team continue to iterate on their design. Expect these to return to Insiders in a future update.
Known Issues
Clothing Textures
- All clothing textures are failing to display correctly in this Insider’s update and are instead displaying a fallback greyscale texture.
Merchant Resource Crates
- Cannonball, Fruit and Wood Plank Crates purchased from the Merchants Alliance at each Outpost are currently empty. These will be filled in a future insider’s update.
Season Two
- Trials with ‘Placeholder’ in the title are currently unable to be progressed.
- Season Two uses a range of placeholder and out of date imagery across the UI.
Phantoms
- Hitting a Phantom with a cursed cannonball will cause them to play an incorrect animation.
Localisation
- There is currently placeholder text throughout the Outpost shop and vanity chests.
Fixed Issues
General
- Players can no longer become stuck in the environment in the Pirate Legend Hideout and appear back in the sea.
- The Kraken Flag and the Inky Kraken Flag should now have different Icons.
- Purchasing Ancient Coins through the in-game menu should no longer result in an infinite loading screen.
- The Sea Dog Capstan’s offer description has been updated to clarify the requirements for purchase.
Seasons
- Season Two’s Plunder Pass Level 20 reward now correctly unlocks the Witch Marking once reached.
- Reaching Level 46 in Season Two as a Pirate Legend will now unlock the Athena’s Might Cutlass.
- A full text pass has been performed across all Trials and Deeds, now using more representative language.
Emissary Ledgers
- The reward’s name text should no longer clip with description text.
