Insider Patch Notes 2.0.17.8
Insider Update 2.0.17.8 is now live! As we approach our next monthly content update, this Insider build has been restricted to the features releasing in August. Larinna and the Treasure Vaults along with Mysterious Notes, dogs and slim line island banners are now disabled while we polish our next release.
While changes are restricted, we are still tackling outstanding known issues and blocking issues identified by insiders. If you encounter any bugs, then please head to the
Sea of Thieves support site and let our Player Support team know.
Accessibility
Disabling Controller Input
- When playing on Windows 10, players now have the option to disable input from a connected controller.
Known Issues
Front End Artwork
- The front-end currently displays work-in-progress assets for an upcoming update and not those releasing in August.
Mermaid Statues
- Approaching a mermaid statue underwater no longer damages a player when they are in proximity.
Skeleton Fort
- Migrating after completing a Skeleton Fort may result in the fort vault being empty when opened.
- Migrating after collecting the Fort Key can cause the fort door to become impassable to players.
Push to Talk
- Push to Talk is not functioning on Windows 10 or Steam.
Fixed Issues
General
- The “Bone Crusher Compass”, the “Fearless Bone Crusher Compass” and the “Bone Crusher Pocket Watch” are now readable at all times, including at night.
- Dig sites located on The Devil’s Thirst should only appear in areas accessible by players.
- Once players have defeated the Ashen Lord Warden Chi, they will hear updated voice over lines which correspond with the subtitles.
Combat and Hit Registration
- Improved cannonball hit registration on rival ships.
Custom Servers
- Improved detection of host location when creating Custom Servers, improving network conditions for the server host.
