Insider Patch Notes 3.6.0.3

Insider Update 3.6.0.3 is now live. This update introduces the Orb of Souls, a new treasure that grows in value by capturing enemy souls, alongside Season 18 Act 2 Emissary Ship Crest rewards and a fresh selection of Pirate Emporium and Outpost cosmetics.

If you encounter any bugs while playing in Insiders, please head to the Sea of Thieves support site and report an issue with our Player Support team.

Season 19: War of the Flame

Orb of Souls

  • The Orb of Souls is a new treasure, that can capture the souls of defeated enemies to increase its value, letting crews decide how far to push their luck before cashing in.

  • When active an Orb will capture the souls of any defeated threats within range, with that generous range being shown when the orb is placed on the ground.

  • When placed onboard a ship, any souls defeated by damage from the ship will be captured, even at extreme distances away.

  • If multiple Orbs are together, the active Orb will clearly be visualised while the others appear dormant.

  • While an Orb of Souls can be sold straight away, there are four upgrade tiers that can be reached by crews capturing additional souls. An Orb will show its current tier from its distinctive name and soul number when held.

Orb of Souls have been placed on the tavern tables at each outpost to facilitate ease of Insider testing.

Known Issues

Orb of Souls

  • The current upgrade tiers, sell values and souls captured from each enemy are placeholder and not representative of final intended design.

  • The Kraken, Eternal Guard, Phantom Captains, Skeleton Ships and the Burning Blade do not currently grant the correct Souls when defeated

  • Orbs of Souls found in Skeleton Fort vaults will incorrectly claim souls of nearby enemies even when the vault is locked and the Orb inaccessible

  • When picking up the active Orb on a ship, the previously held Orb may not become active as expected.

  • Burying an Orb of Souls and digging it back up can cause it to lose its stored soul value.

  • Picking up and putting down the Orb can reset its tier text and visual effects.

Molten Sands Event

  • After the event ends, parts of the altar torches may appear to float in mid-air.

  • Some waves at the Molten Sands Fortress may feature the wrong types of skeletons.

Fixed Issues

Gameplay

  • Poison effects from the Trident of the Banished now clear correctly after a player is revived.

Molten Sands Event

  • Defeating the Eternal Guard during the event now correctly progresses previously released Eternal Guard commendations.

  • The Deed for completing an Emissary Quest to defeat an Eternal Guard now unlocks as expected when the requirements are met.

  • Event notifications for the Molten Sands Event now display proper text instead of placeholder wording.

  • The Act I altar at the Molten Sands Fortress is now solid, allowing players to stand and interact with it as intended.

Visual and Audio

  • Pirates’ hands now line up correctly with all variations of concertina while it’s being played.

Performance and Stability

  • 'Lair of LeChuck' - An unexpected game closure that could occur on Xbox Series consoles after speaking with Herman in this Tall Tale has been resolved.
