Insider Patch Notes 3.6.0.1

Insider Update 3.6.0.1 is now live.  In this build, players can test the new Molten Sands Event for Season 18 Act 2 by embarking on an Emissary Quest to defeat an Eternal Guard and obtain the Molten Sands Key.

If you encounter any bugs while playing in Insiders, please head to the Sea of Thieves support site and report an issue with our Player Support team.

Season 18: Secrets of the Banished

Act 2: Molten Sands Fortress

  • Crews can now take on the Molten Sands Live Event scheduled for Act 2 of Season 18.

  • After choosing their preferred Trading Company, crews must sail as an Emissary and reach Grade 5 to unlock a new time-limited Emissary Quest from their company representative at the nearest Outpost.

  • This Emissary Quest will lead to an Eternal Guard and upon defeat reward the Molten Sands Key, which can either be sold for gold or used to activate the event at Molten Sands Fortress.

  • The Molten Sands encounter features five waves of enemies, including Banished Skeletons, Shadow and Gold Skeletons, Skeleton Lords and an Ashen Lord, all set within the new trap-laden devilish fortress.

Emissary grade progression has been boosted in this build for faster progression to grade 5, and keys are available in Taverns for testing, allowing Insiders to experience the event immediately or test the company hand-in reward.

Updates

Hourglass of Fate Commendation Improvements

  • A range of Commendations that challenge crews to battle rivals using the Hourglass of Fate have been updated to allow players to progress during a ‘Fight for Honor’ against the same faction.

Text Chat in Game Options

  • The Text Chat option within the Game Options menu has been moved down below Crew Management to improve players speed of access to more commonly used options.

Throwing Liquids from Buckets

  • To address an issue causing Merchant Cargo Crates to ignore the effects of water being bucketed directly onto them, a change has been made behind the scenes to how throwable liquids are managed across the experience including Water, Boiling Water and Vomit.

  • Insiders are encouraged to test throwing of all types of liquid and to report any issues in the General Adventure Feedback Thread.

Known Issues

Molten Sands Event

  • Battle music is not played during fights with the Eternal Guard.

  • Eternal Guard bounty quests from the Order of Souls and Gold Hoarders give the Merchant map instead of the correct one.

  • The Act I altar at the Molten Sands Fortress has missing collision.

  • When the Eternal Guard spawns during the voyage, its name tag appears in the bottom section of the banner instead of the top.

  • Emissary voyages do not display a “Voyage Complete” banner after defeating the Eternal Guard.

Fixed Issues

Gameplay

  • A wilting Crate of Plants can now be refreshed by bucketing water directly onto them.

  • A Crate of Cloth is now sodden when bucketing water directly onto them.

Eternal Guard

  • Further improvements to reduce the frequency of the Eternal Guard becoming stuck on parts of island terrain when moving.

  • The Eternal Guard will no longer linger excessively in one spot when in its cloaked phase.

  • The Eternal Guard can now appear on Sunken Grove.

  • The Eternal Guard’s Death Cry now plays correctly even when the Guard is killed while staggered.

  • The sarcophagus lid now behaves correctly when the Eternal Guard is summoned.

Smuggler Hideouts in the Devi's Roar

  • Banished Ancient Sanctuary Keys can now be sold to smugglers during Act 2, with rewards matching those offered by other trading companies.

  • Players can no longer become stuck between props within Ruby’s Fall’s Smuggler Hideout.

  • Players can no longer see outside of the game map within the Fetcher’s Rest Hideout.

  • Low Tide Lottie’s model now transitions correctly without noticeable detail changes at close range.

Environment

  • Further improvements have been made to remove areas where pirates can push through the environment into the sea within the Pirate Legend Hideout.

  • Players can no longer become stuck between trees and rocks on certain places in the Shores of Gold.

Visual and Audio

  • Phantoms viewed through spyglasses at Sea Forts will no longer suddenly appear or disappear unexpectedly.

  • The double-barrel pistol will no longer appear to merge into other objects when paired with the Bleakheart Banshee costume.

  • An Ancient Key is no longer visible inside the main menu table.

  • The Tundra Wanderer grapple gun now reloads with a properly attached bolt.

  • The Baleful Bloom costume hat no longer appears to merge through characters’ heads.

  • Ship Crests now require a Captained Ship before being able to be purchased.

  • The Stone Islehopper Outlaw flag now appears correctly on the ship once equipped.

  • The Rising Wave emote now displays its icon properly.

  • Large pirate body types no longer experience merging of hands and tankards at the end of the drinking animation.

Text and Localisation

  • A Japanese tooltip for Cargo Runs now displays the correct delivery message.

  • Polish localisation for a Discovery Ridge riddle now displays the correct compass and target tags.

  • A missing Japanese symbol within the Hunter of Banished Ancient Goods commendation description has been restored.

Performance and Stability

  • Improved server stability to avoid instances where players are disconnected from their session.
