Insider Patch Notes 3.5.0.9

Insider Update 3.5.0.9 is now live. This is the final Insider build of the hardening phase for our September release before we return to previewing features for future updates.

While this is the last Insider build focused on September's update, the below listed Known Issues will continue to be worked on by the team ahead of launch.

If you encounter any bugs while playing in Insiders, please head to the Sea of Thieves support site and report an issue with our Player Support team.

Gameplay Improvements

Improved Field of View

  • Following Insider feedback, the Field of View range on the ship’s wheel override setting has now been extended to 110 (from a previous limit of 90).

Smugglers’ Route Run Balancing

  • The frequency of Phantom encounters while taking part in a Smugglers’ Route Run Voyage has been reduced.

Known Issues

Increased Field of View

  • Zooming in and stowing a Quest Map may leave the Field of View stuck at the lower value rather than returning to the set one.

  • World Event clouds may appear with visual errors when using higher Field of View settings.

  • Black Powder Dart effects may display incorrectly or inconsistently at lower Field of View values, particularly below 90.

Visual Effects

  • Fire visual effects will remain on ships, even after being doused with water.

Fixed Issues

Smugglers’ Hideouts

  • Enemy threats will no longer appear inside Smugglers’ Hideouts.

Smugglers’ Heist

  • The Target Painting’s map marker is now only shown after the painting has been collected from Royal Crest Fortress.

  • The Target Painting marker no longer shows on a closed Fortress after migrating server with an active Voyage.

  • Royal Crest Fortress can now be opened after migrating during a Heist and restarting it on a new server.

  • The key’s map marker no longer reappears after migration.

Increased Field of View

  • Fishing rods now appear as intended when prepared to cast at 110 Field of View.

  • Field of View no longer changes unexpectedly when showing a Quest Item to another player.

  • The Black Powder Dart effect no longer lingers on the screen when hit while using 110 Field of View.

  • The player’s arms no longer merge into the camera when rowing at 110 Field of View.

  • Smugglers’ Heist and Smugglers’ Route Run Quest Notes now respect the chosen Field of View override.
