Insider Patch Notes 3.3.1.2

Insider Update 3.3.1.2 is now live. In this build, the Pirate Emporium gets a new shipment of goods, while Skeleton Mercenaries return for testing and are now stronger, more accurate and slightly less loyal, as they’re now able to be stolen by rival crews if they revive them first!

Reapers Rising

Skeleton Mercenaries

  • Skeleton Mercenaries will now move consistently with their crew and can dig underground and surface at locations to follow across larger areas.

  • Mercenaries will now retrieve the last item they held if they had to drop it to help with combat or dig up a buried item.

  • Mercenaries will continue to assist with combat and treasure hunting, and can now be stolen by rival crews if revived by them first.

Season 15: Wild Seas

Wild Boar Hunting Voyages

  • Grand Boars now have more health, attack from a greater distance and heal more frequently when at low health. 

Wild Seas Commendations and Rewards

  • With the introduction of wild boars and new Hunting Voyages, new Commendations have been added within the Reputation Tab to challenge aspiring hunters. 

  • Players can unlock the Jagged Jaws Throwing Knives after completing all Hunting Spear Commendations, and the Wild Seas Curse upon completing all Wild Seas Commendations in the Bilge Rats section.

  • Skin Scrawlers Ship Set: Figurehead, Collector’s Figurehead, Sails, Collector’s Sails, Hull, Capstan, Wheel, Cannons, Flag, Cannon Flare and Ship’s Crest.

  • Skin Scrawlers Weapons: Cutlass, Pistol, Blunderbuss, Eye of Reach, Double Barrel Pistol, Throwing Knives, Grapple Gun and Blowpipe.

Gameplay Improvements

Emergent Kraken Encounter Rewards

  • Crews now have a chance of receiving Hunter’s Call treasure items after defeating a Kraken.

Updates

Network Connection Indicator

  • Players experiencing an unstable network connection will now be shown an indicator within the game HUD. While this is enabled by default, it can be disabled within the HUD settings.

Rewarding Seasonal Renown Technical Test

  • A new system has been introduced that can reward players with Seasonal Renown through external rewards like Twitch Drops. 

  • For this Technical Test, players should complete goals in the "[PH] Season Level Reward Test" event, such as catching a fish or defeating a Sea Fort, to earn Seasonal progress and confirm rewards are granted correctly.

Graphics Card Crash Detection

  • PC players will now find a new option in the Game Settings, allowing extra information to be gathered when experiencing a GPU related crashes.

  • GPU Crash Detection will be disabled by default but can be enabled through the Video Options on Windows Store and Steam builds only.

Known Issues

Skeleton Mercenaries

  • Skeleton Mercenaries do not keep items if a player gives them an item while crouching and then stands back up.  

  • Players can still give Skeleton Mercenaries items while they are in combat.

  • Skeleton Mercenaries do not drop loot when downed.

  • If a player dies and goes to the Ferry, any Skeleton Mercenaries on the island they were at will despawn.

  • Players do not receive Ancient Coins if a Skeleton Mercenary defeats an Ancient Skeleton.

Megalodon Hunting Voyage

  • The Voyage ends prematurely when the Megalodon flees in the earlier stages of the Voyage.

Fixed Issues

Gameplay  

  • Insiders should once again consistently earn gold and reputation when buying or selling treasure.

  • The Hunting Voyages icon now appears on the Hunter’s Call menu tile in the Quest Table.  

  • The Hunter’s Call motto has been updated on the Quest Table menu tile.  

  • The Merchant Alliance no longer sells or buys Bait Crates, preventing players from purchasing from Hunter’s Call or Merchant Alliance and reselling on the same island. 

  • Opening and closing a full-screen UI menu no longer disconnects players from dockable items or cancels emotes.  

  • Players can no longer sell a Bait Crate at the same Outpost where they purchased it.  

  • Merrick's Delicious Recipe Voyage now correctly requires two Cloudy Plentifins to complete.  

Fishing Voyages  

  • If a player dies while holding a caught fish, Treasured Fish now drop on the ground, while regular fish are added to the player's inventory if there is space.  

  • Fish no longer disappear from fishing rods after the player's death.  

Boar Hunting Voyage  

  • The Boar Hunting Voyage is now locked behind a level requirement - players must be level 15 in the Hunter’s Call.  

  • Cancelling a Boar Hunting Voyage now removes both the relevant wallow and the relevant boar.  

  • When cancelling and starting a new Boar Hunting Voyage, the note will always display a valid island name.

  • The Grand Boar now leaves more footprints.  

  • Diving during a Boar Voyage will now correctly spawn the Voyage’s boars and wallows upon resurfacing. 

  • Emergent AI enemies no longer spawn on islands selected for a Boar Hunting Voyage.  

  • The Boar Hunting Voyage note now displays text split correctly across multiple lines to improve readability and allow for translation space.  

  • Boars and their wallows now correctly disappear when a Voyage is completed or cancelled.  

  • Natural boars will no longer appear on islands selected for a Boar Hunting Voyage.  

  • Voyage locations now generate on appropriate islands rather than distant locations across the sea.  

  • Voyage boar wallows now remain after a player disconnects and rejoins.  

Megalodon Hunting Voyage  

  • The Megalodon Hunting Voyage is now locked behind a level requirement - players must be level 20 in the Hunter’s Call.  

  • The Megalodon Hunting Voyage note now features an updated miniature radial menu icon.  

Hunting Spear  

  • Repairing a hole while a spear is lodged into it will no longer cause permanent damage.  

  • Hunter’s Call resources can now be repurchased if they were bought in a previous session and not collected.

  • Attempting to pick up items from a Collector's Chest while holding a hunting spear will no longer cause them to disappear.

  • Hunting spears now produce a splash visual effect when thrown into the water.  

Reaper Cannon of Rage  

  • Players who join a session in progress can now interact with the Cannon of Rage.  

Skeleton Mercenaries  

  • Skeleton Mercenaries will no longer enter a revive state if a player leaves and returns to an island before the island resets.  

  • Skeleton Mercenaries now assist players with buried treasure maps.  

  • Skeleton Mercenaries no longer attempt to lead players to a different island when shown a Bounty or X Marks the Spot map.  

  • Skeleton Mercenaries now transition smoothly when approaching players instead of abruptly switching to the wander animation.  

  • Skeleton Mercenaries no longer get stuck between animations when assisting with digging and needing to teleport.  

Wild Boars  

  • Controller players using Aim Assist will now find they are assisted during combat with wild boars.  

  • Wild boars now react properly when shot from a distance.  

  • Boars now react to hunting spears landing nearby.  

Environment  

  • Players should no longer be able to leave their Brigantine and return to the Sea of the Damned while travelling through the Tunnels of the Damned.  

Visual and Audio  

  • The Pig Sea Dog Outfit now maintains its intended visuals when viewed from a distance.

  • Loading screens mentioning Lightbearer cosmetics now feature Season 15 imagery.  

  • The Hunter’s Call Voyage Tab now displays icons for all related Voyages rather than just Fishing Voyages.  

  • The Radiant Comet Blunderbuss no longer allows players to see through its texture when firing.  

  • Seagulls now stay near the player’s ship instead of flying past upon reaching them.  

  • The Fates of Fortune Eye of Reach scope no longer appears broken during the reload animation.  

Performance and Stability  

  • Cancelling the Boar Hunting Voyage multiple times no longer causes server instability.  

  • Exploding a Cannon of Rage on a ship no longer causes a server instability.

  • Improved server stability to reduce instances of players disconnecting from their session.
