Insider Update 3.3.0.3 is now live. With this update players can get hands on with the new deployable Reaper Cannon, a brand-new transportable weapon to add to your arsenal for naval combat.
As always, if you encounter any bugs, please head to the Sea of Thieves support site and let our Player Support team know.
Reaper Cannon of Rage
The Reaper Cannon of Rage is a powerful new deployable cannon. The cannon can be transported and deployed in a wide range of tactical locations and moved to be redeployed in new locations as needed.
When deployed, it can be loaded and fired like a regular cannon; however, be warned with each shot fired the cannon generates heat and will need to be cooled to prevent overheating. Players can delay their shots to allow the cannon to cool, or use water to douse it faster.
The cannon will also overheat when taking damage, becoming a potential target for rival crews. Should the cannon reach a critical heat threshold either through over use or by damage it will begin to steam and then explode, causing devastating damage to the area.
To facilitate Insider testing, these new Reaper Cannons can be found easily at Outpost Taverns.
Hunting Spear Improvements
The range of the hunting spear’s quick throw has been slightly increased, throwing the spear further.
Throwing a hunting spear at a higher angle will cause the spear to arc sooner and travel a shorter distance.
Charging a throw will now take longer before being fully charged.
Lizards
Athena’s Fortune Legendary Searches
Athena’s Fortune now offer three new Voyages that provide a short, on-demand option to earn Athena’s Fortune reputation. These new Legendary Searches can be selected from the Quest Table: A Legendary Treasure Map Search, A Legendary Riddle Quest Search and A Legendary Skeleton Bounty Search.
As these Voyages are a shorter experience and therefore have less risk than the existing Athena’s Fortune experiences on offer, they will provide reduced rewards in comparison to their riskier counterparts.
Gilded Voyages
New Gilded Voyages are now available, sending players into The Wilds. This Gilded Voyage can be found in the Limited Voyages tab of the Quest Table.
There are four Gilded Voyages available, each with a single use; Gold Hoarders, Merchant Alliance, Order of Souls and Athena's Fortune.
Reaper Cannon of Rage
The cannon model, audio and visual effects are all considered placeholder in this early preview and feedback is not required at this time.
Direct shots from a cannonball on a deployed Reaper Cannon will not currently trigger overheat, however this is intended.
