Insider Patch Notes 3.2.2.4

Insider Update 3.2.2.4 is now live. In this update, Insiders can test a new Captain's Fishing Voyage, a balanced Barnacled Dread Megalodon encounter and new Lucky Hand equipment in Outpost shops.

As always, if you encounter any bugs, please head to the Sea of Thieves support site and let our Player Support team know.

Wild Seas

Ancient Fish

  • The Pirate's Fishing Voyage now features a specific set of Ancient Fish species; you will only see the Ancient Splashtail, Islehopper, Plentifin, Wildsplash and Battlegill during this Voyage type.

  • The Captain's Fishing Voyage now features a specific set of Ancient Fish species; you will only see the Ancient Pondie, Devilfish, Ancientscale, Wrecker and Stormfish during this Voyage type.

Captain's Fishing Voyage

  • Captain's Fishing Voyages have two pools of fish to find and catch instead of one, with each pool containing three fish, so the Voyage has a total of six fish which you are required to catch to complete it. These Voyages also take place on large islands as opposed to the small islands you visit on the Pirate's Fishing Voyage.

Fishing Voyage Balancing

  • The Ancient Fish on the Fishing Voyages can bite your deployed fishing hook/float from further away, making it easier to catch them when casting your line near to them.

  • An initial pass at the visual effects of the fishing pool have been added. The fish have also had their swimming area increased to match the size of this visual pool.

Ancient Megalodon Encounter Balancing

  • The Barnacled Dread encounter is now balanced across different crew sizes, with the damage performed by the Megalodon, the speed of movement and the frequency with which Eelectric enemies appear during the encounter all being made dynamic.

Outpost Cosmetics

New Outpost Items – Now in stock!

  • The Outpost stores now stock equipment from the Lucky Hand set, with the Compass, Spyglass, Pocket Watch, Speaking Trumpet, Tankard, Bucket and Lantern available for purchase with gold.

Known Issues

Hunter’s Call

  • Opening the Hunter’s Call section in the Reputation Tab may cause the game to crash.

Fishing Voyages

  • The maps for both Fishing Voyages do not show the island or fish pool locations, however the name of the island is on the map so you know where to go and search for the fish pools.

Trading Company Tutorials

  • The Merchant Alliance Tutorial mistakenly concludes with "The chicken coop was lost" after handing in the chicken coop.

Fixed Issues

Gameplay

  • Traps loaded with a Blunderbomb will now deal consistent damage to players who spring the trap based on their proximity when triggered. Running through a Blunderbomb-loaded trap will no longer deal enough damage to outright kill a full health player.

  • The Dreamers’ Dust Pistol and Cardinal Lodestar Double Barrel Pistol will now aim accurately.

  • The damage dealt by an Ashen Lord’s explosion now dynamically scales based on the crew size in the encounter.

  • Players can now equip all costumes purchased from the Pirate Emporium.

Mimic Darts

  • Mimic effects will now end when entering the Tunnel of the Damned.

  • Players mimicking a skeleton will no longer have their nameplate colour revert when the mimicked skeleton is defeated.

Fishing Voyage

  • Improvements to the placement of fishing spots, reducing the chance that spots are placed too close to shorelines and are unable to be fished.

Wild Boar

  • Boar wallows now appear properly aligned with the ground, have correct dressing and temporarily clear grass in the area.

  • Boar tracks now use accurate boar footprints.

Ancient Megalodon

  • During encounters with the Feared Redmaw and Barnacled Dread, the coral armour and fiery rage will no longer reset should the Megalodon reposition itself when chasing a ship.

  • Banners displayed when defeating an Ancient Megalodon now display the appropriate text.

  • Players should no longer experience an unexpected game closure when engaging an Ancient Megalodon with other ships nearby.

Environment

  • Players will no longer get stuck between the statue and rocks in the North-west part of the temple at Lagoon of Whispers.

Visual and Audio

  • Players will no longer experience high pitched sound effects across the game during the Ashen Lord's smoke screen.

  • Players bailing water in quick succession should now consistently hear the audio effects for scooping and throwing.

  • Players using Aim Down Sights while crouching will now appear properly in an Aim Down Sights pose to other players.

  • The Dreamers’ Dust Cannon and Wheel now display correctly.

  • Players will no longer see their legs appear to merge through the King’s Chest disguise.

  • The brightness of the Magpie's Glory Pocket Watch face has been adjusted to a more suitable level.
