Insider Update 3.2.2.2 is now live. Season 15 brings Wild Boars, a versatile Hunting Spear and lizards to the Sea of Thieves. Insiders can also test Reaper Black Powder Runs and experience a new reputation-based reward system, encouraging more active gameplay.
As always, if you encounter any bugs, please head to the Sea of Thieves support site and let our Player Support team know.
Hunting Spear
Hunters can now pick up a trusty Hunting Spear from the Hunter’s Call representatives at Seaposts or discover them washed up on the shores.
These new items can be aimed and thrown, dealing significant damage to players and will be even more deadly to creatures and wildlife. They can also be retrieved when embedded in a solid surface and thrown again.
Hunting Spears can also be loaded into a ship’s cannons for extra power and fired at players and ships alike. When fired into a ship, the spear will lodge into the hull, causing a small damage hole. When attempting to retrieve it however, the hole size will increase so be prepared to repair!
Wild Boar
Wild Boar now inhabit some islands across the seas. Found in small packs on islands, boars will flee when approached, leaving a trail of footprints and fruit behind. Be warned, while initially skittish, they will charge when provoked and heal by eating nearby fruit.
Players can hunt Wild Boar in addition to the larger Alpha Boar of the pack. While hunting all boar rewards with pork, the tougher Alpha Boar also drops a new treasure item, the Boar Tusk, which can be sold to the Hunter’s Call.
Crews looking for treasure can sneak to follow a boar to their wallows, where treasure they’ve gathered in their home can be retrieved.
