Insider Patch Notes 3.2.1.5

Insider Update 3.2.1.5 is now live. There’s further improvements to the new Mimic Darts, changes to blowpipe ammunition and a restock at the Outpost for Insiders to get stuck in and testing.

As we approach the scheduled release of our December update, the next Insider builds will become focused on finalising this release. This means that the feature set and builds delivered to Insiders will now closely resemble what will be available in the final release.

As always, if you encounter any bugs, please head to the Sea of Thieves support site and let our Player Support team know.

Pirates of Mischief

Blowpipe Improvements

  • Players can now quickly cycle through available dart types via a new keybind, Dart Radial Input. By default this is bound to H on keyboard and Right D-Pad on controller. Players can also hold this key to summon the full Dart Radial.

  • Players now have a choice on how the blowpipe acts when running out of a specific dart type. By default, running out of a specific dart type will switch to the next type, however using Auto Switch Dart Type in the Input Settings, players can prevent this automatic switching.

Mimic Dart

  • The Pirates of Mischief section in the Reputation Tab now holds a range of Commendations challenging players to use mimicry to baffle other pirates, with players earning the Lucky Hand Blowpipe as a reward.

  • Players can now remove their own mimic effects by firing another dart at a solid surface to break the link and return their appearance back to normal.

Outpost Cosmetics

Live Events

Limited Voyage: A Reaper Gunpowder Run

  • This time-limited Voyage is back and will be active in Insiders from 29th November, 10:00 UTC to 1st December, 23:59 UTC.

  • During this time, vote to begin the Voyage from the Quest Table before heading out on a route across Skeleton Forts, digging up explosive items for the Reaper's Bones.

  • During this event, the cash-in gold and reputation value of all explosive items will be increased by 1.5 times, with Gunpowder Kegs increased by 5 times when returned to the Reaper’s Bones.

  • The Pirates Log contains a set of event goals, rewarding pirates gold and reputation for the Reaper’s Bones for their troubles.

Known Issues

PlayStation®5 Stability

  • Due to an issue with game stability, players on PlayStation®5 will be unable to launch Sea of Thieves Insiders in this build.

Mimic Dart

  • While mimicking a target, players will currently retain access to their emotes – which when used can cause a range of visual issues. This will be addressed in an upcoming update where players under the effect of a Mimic Dart will instead be provided with a default set of safe emotes that work correctly across all body sizes.

  • Players can still appear as green skeletons once the effects of a Mimic Dart wear off in certain scenarios.

  • Players are currently unable to mimic Bone Caller Skeletons.

  • A player who is mimicking another may still appear as themselves to players who join a session after the effect has begun.

  • The mimic visual effects on the player are currently much too intense when standing near a light source.

  • Players using a chest disguise while mimicking a skeleton may appear incorrectly.

  • A mimicking player’s nameplate may appear incorrectly with their name partially cut off.

  • Players are unable to dive or scuttle if they attempt to start the action while mimicking.

Pirates of Mischief

  • The Smile and Wave Commendation cannot currently be progressed when completing the criteria on a moving ship.

Fixed Issues

Gameplay

  • Further improvements to the display of Ship Names on Captained ships, ensuring that the Ship Name now stays visible when diving or migrating across servers.

  • Sprinting from crouch no longer prevents players from wielding items or weapons.

  • The aim on the Seasoned Sailor Pistol has been improved, ensuring shots now align with the tip of the barrel.

Traps

  • When disarming a loaded trap with limited inventory space, players will retrieve the trap first before any loaded items.

  • Players who temporarily disconnect from a session with deployed traps will now find the traps stay active for a short grace period for the player to rejoin the session before they are removed.

  • Traps now trigger instantly to gunshots or melee attacks, however when this sets off a chain reaction of deployed traps there will now be a short delay between traps.

Mimic Dart

  • The Mimic Dart will now last the full duration intended and no longer end abruptly.

  • Players will no longer lose their mimic effect when the dart is destroyed, allowing players to remain hidden for longer.

  • Attempting to mimic the same target will now refresh the duration of the effect.

  • Mimicking skeletons will make them passive if they are not already targeting the player. If the player attacks them, then they will be hostile and won't fall for the mimic again.

  • Mimicking the Gold Hoarder while disguised as a chest no longer causes the player’s eyes to float above the chest.

  • Mimicking an Ashen Skeleton or Ashen Captain will now continue to show the visual effects.

  • Mimicking a Shadow Skeleton will now display the same eye colour of the original skeleton.

  • Mimicking a player using the Ghost Curse or Gold Ghost Curse will now display the correct visual effects and the effects will be removed once the effect wears off.

  • Mimic Dart effects no longer replay when players come back into view of other players after being a long distance away.

Reaper Gunpowder Run

  • Gunpowder & Stronghold Gunpowder Barrels obtained from the Reaper Gunpowder Run Voyage can now be sold correctly to the Merchant Alliance, Sovereigns and the Reaper's Bones.

Pirate Emporium

  • Dreamers’ Dust weapon icons now display their visual effects in the Emporium menu.

  • The Tourist Emote Bundle tile no longer appears duplicated in the Emporium menu.

Environment

  • Grapple Guns no longer let players move through rocks on the Coral Fortress.

  • 'The Lair of LeChuck' – Players can no longer reach past the boundaries of the map by using the Grapple Gun.

Visual and Audio

  • Items used in various emotes should now consistently appear at their intended size.

  • Characters’ faces no longer appear to be missing parts when wearing Mask of Mayhem with the Barrel Bombardier costume.

  • The Dreamers' Dust Throwing Knife effect now fades as expected after being picked up.

  • The Dreamers' Dust Figurehead’s hourglass now fills correctly with visual effects.

  • The Dreamers' Dust Ship’s Crest now displays correctly.

  • The Dreamers' Dust Lantern’s light now matches the lantern's colour.

  • The Dreamers' Dust Grapple Gun now includes its hook.

  • Pirate's hands no longer merge into the leaf decoration of the Ancestral Wheel.

  • The Shadow Tide Wheel no longer hides the compass when equipped on Brigantines and Sloops.

  • The Lodestar Blowpipe’s sight is now properly aligned.

  • The Boreal Aurora Wheel no longer merges into pirates’ hands when in use.

  • Ponytail hairstyles now display correctly from all angles.

Text and Localisation

  • The Safer Seas Quest Table now displays the correct level cap of 25.

  • The warning text on Company reputation pages in Safer Seas now accurately reflects the reputation cap.

  • The Tanner’s Shirts now have their proper names in the Outpost stores.
