Insider Patch Notes 3.1.2.6

Insider Update 3.1.2.6 is now live. As we approach the scheduled release of Season 14, the next Insider builds will become focused on finalising this release. This means that the feature set and builds delivered to Insiders will now closely resemble what will be available in the final release.

Pirates of Mischief

With changes being made across Insider builds addressing various boarding scenarios, head to the Forums for broader update on the topic of boarding in Season 14!

Grapple Gun Balancing

  • Players are now prevented from interacting with a ship’s Harpoon or docked Rowboat while airborne, preventing scenarios where players could interact with them from outside of the ship and board easily.

  • The Sloop’s Armoury is no longer able to be grappled to and now prevents players grappling directly onboard from the rear while in the water.

  • The Sloop’s Cannonball Barrels are no longer able to be grappled to and now prevent players grappling directly onboard from the sides while in the water.

  • When reloading the Grapple Gun, once the arrowhead has been placed in the barrel and the hammer cocked, players are free to fire or move and cancel the remaining animation.

Blowpipe Balancing

  • The Poison Dart now deals additional damage over time once attached, now dealing a total of 80 damage, up from 70.

  • Enemy threats now take slightly longer to destroy a Lure Dart they have been drawn to.

  • Blowpipe darts' visual trail is now much more discreet when fired and now more accurately shows the strength of the charge.

Outpost Cosmetics

New Outpost Stock!

  • The Outpost stores now stock new items from the existing Lucky Hand set. Visit the Shipwright and Weaponsmith at the Outpost to grab the Ship and Weapons set for Doubloons.

  • The Outpost Clothing stores have refreshed their stock and now offer the new Rusted Skulls Clothing Set and wrap-style shirts for pirates with gold to spare.

Accessibility

Emetophobia Support

  • Players that suffer from emetophobia (fear of vomit/vomiting) can now turn off all vomit-related audio effects from the audio settings, including sounds made by players and pets.

Known Issues

Grapple Gun Boarding

  • Skilled players are still finding they can pull off a deckshot with the Grapple Gun when flying through the air after being fired from a cannon. A prevention to this is still being worked on for the next Insider update.

Blowpipe

  • Firing the blowpipe while running and jumping may cause the ammo count to decrease incorrectly.

  • The darts’ visual trail effect when fired during the daytime is currently very hard to see and will be improved.

  • Players are currently unable to shoot a Lure Dart off of an allied player.

Disguises

  • Players do not receive an interaction prompt when standing over a disguised player.

Fixed Issues

Gameplay

  • Crews diving to an Hourglass of Fate Battle or Voyage should no longer experience a scenario where they remain underwater and are unable to surface.

  • 'The Cursed Rogue' - The final cutscene in the Tall Tale now plays as intended when handing in Briggsy's skull.

Grapple Gun

  • After firing the last arrowhead while aiming down sights, the camera sensitivity should no longer become stuck.

  • Grappling through the underground entrance to the Athena's Hideout is no longer possible.

  • Female body type animations for the Grapple Gun are now properly aligned.

  • Hand animation during the reeling-in process has been improved.

  • Placeholder "PH" text for the Victorious Weapon Pose has been removed.

  • Controller vibration feedback when using the Grapple Gun has been improved.

  • Third-person visual effects when firing the Grapple Gun have been improved.

Blowpipe

  • Darts fired on a moving ship now act as expected and are much easier to aim.

  • Players can no longer shoot a Lure Dart that is attached to themselves.

  • The darts’ visual effect when fired no longer obstructs the screen when hip-firing.

  • Players can now more reliably reload their darts at Ammo Crates. Darts will be reloaded in the order they appear on the Dart Radial, so Black Powder Darts will reload first.

  • Lure Darts no longer grow to large sizes when hitting Phantoms during teleportation.

  • Buckets of water now properly douse Black Powder Darts.

  • Darts left in the world are now more regularly cleaned up.

  • Lure Dart-related game stability has been improved.

  • The 'Poisonous Pirate' Commendation now properly counts hits on enemies.

  • The 'Oceans of Venom' Commendation unlocks as expected.

  • Players can no longer hit darts attached to themselves with their own shots.

  • The 'They Work for Me Now' and 'Rusty Bucket Bay' Commendations now unlock as expected.

Crouching

  • Animations into and out of crouch are now smoother.

  • Players can now crouch properly after exiting a Tunnel of the Damned.

  • Players can no longer pick up loot in a Treasure Chest while crouching with an item in hand.

  • Players will no longer see their feet merging through the ground when crouching.

Disguises

  • The Disguises Tutorial now appears promptly after equipping a disguise.

  • Players can now equip disguises on the Ferry of the Damned.

  • Players can see each other’s feet when moving in disguises.

  • Disguises no longer stutter or jitter when moving on ships, and they rotate correctly for other players.

  • Disguise icons and text have been updated.

  • The Barrel Disguise now displays players' feet properly.

  • Enemy threats will no longer be able to detect players when that player is using a disguise.

  • Disguises now unequip when players are attacked by skeletons.

  • Camera zoom while in disguise is now correctly aligned.

  • Textures no longer clip when disguises are equipped over freshly dug holes.

Traps

  • Traps placed by others on different islands now display correctly.

  • Traps no longer appear to float when dug up.

  • Traps now travel with ships when thrown on a moving vessel.

  • Trap sound effects now play correctly when triggered.

  • Traps now appear more frequently in barrels.

  • Thrown traps no longer disappear or give false hit markers.

  • Traps armed with fireworks no longer launch ships into the air.

  • Traps can now be placed at Skeleton Camps, in the Sunken Kingdom and on the bottom deck of a Galleon.

  • A trap armed with fireworks will now activate other traps in a daisy chain.

  • Skeletons now react properly when activating a trap.

Hanging Points

  • The 'Hanging with the Enemy' Commendation now unlocks when completed on the Sloop and Galleon.

  • The Hanging Point Tutorial now appears when entering a ship.

  • Hanging point prompts no longer appear on sunken ships.

Merfruit

  • The number of Merfruit cooked is now properly tracked and players can now see how many Merfruit they have burned.

  • Enchanted Merfruit now has unique text lines and descriptions.

Pirate Emporium

  • Purchasing the Skeleton Owl and Fox Bundle now properly grants the pets.

  • The Blowpipe Collection will now include all three different types of blowpipe.

Visual and Audio

  • 'The Legend of Monkey Island' - Murray’s voice lines during Insult Sword Fighting now play audio as expected.

  • The Roaring Grog Whistle and Fire Breath Emote previews now display correctly for larger body types.

  • The Coral Coven Collector's Figurehead art now shows correctly in the Pirate Emporium.

  • The iron sight on the Coral Coven Pistol is now accurate.

  • The Royal Fortune Sails no longer show black lines on the crown pattern.

Performance and Stability

  • Improvements to Voice Chat to better support players across all platforms, resolving issues that prevented communication in cross-play encounters. Returned Voice Chat support on Steam Deck.

  • Improved game stability to avoid instances where players are disconnected from their session.
