Insider Update 3.1.2.5 is now live. In this update, Insiders can test features for Community Weekend, including a Raid on a Defended Dark Fortress, Pop-Up Plunder and abundant Gunpowder Barrels across islands and Sea Forts. A community Picture Wall will also be available at Outposts.
As always, if you encounter any bugs, please head to the Sea of Thieves support site and let our Player Support team know.
With changes being made across Insider builds addressing various boarding scenarios, head to the Forums for broader update on the topic of boarding in Season 14!
Grapple Gun Balancing
The Sloop’s wheel and balustrades are no longer able to be grappled to and as a result players are now unable to grapple directly onboard from the sides of the ship while in the water.
The Sloop’s rear canopy, staircase and balustrades are no longer able to be grappled to and now prevent players grappling directly onboard from the rear.
Players flying through the air and attempting to fire a grapple line onto a target will find that the arrowhead now maintains the movement direction and speed of the player, making it incredibly difficult to grapple onto a target.

Season 14 Rewards and Plunder Pass
Progressing through the 100 levels of Renown in Season 14 will reward players with the Shadow Tide clothing set and unique Season 14 rewards, alongside time-limited Shadow of the Fox collectibles.
Pick up the latest Plunder Pass to gain access to a plethora of additional unlockable cosmetics from the Inner Sanctum set, including a full ship collection and selection of weapons and clothing, all available to earn by raising your Renown.
Community Weekend Tech Testing
Ongoing testing aims to refine features for upcoming Community Weekend events. Insiders are encouraged to test login rewards, take on a limited-time Raid on a Defended Dark Fortress, and engage in the hunt for Pop-Up Plunder—or perhaps a surprise Pop-Up Blunder!
Throughout the event, Gunpowder Barrels will be more abundant across the seas. Large islands and Sea Forts will have a significantly increased number of Gunpowder Barrels, and some of the barrels found in the world will be replaced with Stronghold Gunpowder Barrels.
The Community Weekend Picture Wall will be available at Outposts, giving Insiders a chance to enjoy and participate in the event.
