Insider Update 3.1.2.4 is now live. In this update Insiders can get hands on with Season 14 features as they step through their final iteration before launch next month, with changes to the Grapple Gun, Merfruit and Crouching. An update to on-boarding in Season 14 has also arrived in the Insiders Forum here!
There is also a refreshed Emporium and Tech Testing for upcoming Live Events for Insiders to get their teeth into!

Grapple Gun Balancing
The mast, yard arms and crow’s nest on all ships can no longer be grappled to.
Players are prevented from grappling onto a ship’s harpoon from the water.
Rowboats both docked to a ship or floating at sea can longer be able to be grappled to.
New audio effects can be heard when hitting various surfaces with a grapple gun.

Merfruit
The effects of an Enchanted Merfruit have been extended to now last for 2 minutes.
The carrying capacity of an Enchanted Merfruit has been revised and players can now hold 3 in their inventory.
These combined changes allow players to benefit from the Enchanted Merfruit effects to suppress their mermaid for a longer duration, up from 5 minutes to 6.
Crouching & Stealth
Traps
Players caught by a trap will suffer from reduced movement for a longer time, 4 seconds up from 1.
Players are now limited to placing two traps at any one time.
Traps will now be triggered by anyone who stands on them, whether that be enemies or even crew.
Audio and visual effects have begun being added to various interactions with traps.

Community Weekend Tech Testing
Further testing is underway to polish up features for upcoming Community Weekend events. Insiders should test the login rewards and take on a time-limited Raid on a Defended Dark Fortress, as well as hunting for Pop-Up Plunder, or possibly Pop-Up Blunder!
During the time period, Gunpowder Barrels will be boosted across the seas. Large islands and Sea Forts will spawn a notably higher amount of Gunpowder Barrels, while a small amount of Gunpowder Barrels spawned in the world will become Stronghold Gunpowder Barrels.
Please note: The Community Photo Wall will be active at Outposts from Tuesday’s build only and will not be active during this build.
Grapple Gun Boarding
Players sprinting while using a Grapple Gun may find themselves holding onto a giant arrowhead.
Players are currently able to grapple onto the rear canopy of the Sloop and board from behind. This will be prevented in the next Insiders update.
Players are currently able to grapple onto the Sloop’s wheel and balustrades to board the ship from the side. This will be prevented in the next Insiders update.
Further improvements are due in the next Insiders update to make it much more difficult to land a precise grapple shot on target while moving through the air.
Blowpipe
The 'They Work for Me Now' and 'Rusty Bucket Bay' Commendations for Lure Darts currently do not unlock.
Ammo Crates currently do not use the correct amount of ammo when refilling a blowpipe.
Changing darts while aiming and moving forward causes cameras to stutter during movement.
Traps
Gameplay
After disconnecting and rejoining near a defeated Burning Blade, players will no longer automatically pledge themselves to it and take control.
The Gold Hoarders Tutorial Voyage will now continue smoothly when the chest is placed on your ship.
Grapple Gun
Further areas have been excluded for Grapple Guns, including locations at Liar’s Backbone, Crook’s Hollow, the Heart of Fire and the Shores of Gold.
Firing a Grapple line at a Rowboat will no longer damage the Rowboat.
Firing a Grapple Gun at a dart from a blowpipe will now damage all dart types.
Players will no longer be pulled through the walls of the Galleon’s Captain Cabin when grappled.
Lure Darts can now be removed using the Grapple Gun.
Hanging Points
Blowpipe
The visibility of blowpipe dart trails has been reduced.
Darts will now appear to be correctly loaded into the blowpipe.
Enemy threats will now attack other enemies hit by Lure Darts.
Sharks and Sirens will no longer behave erratically when hit with a Lure Dart.
The blowpipe will now appear properly on screen when aiming.
Players will now see darts embedded in them when performing an emote.
Aiming with the blowpipe will no longer cause the player to transition to a rifle stance.
Disguises
Costumes and hats will no longer float above players when using a disguise.
Audio from disguises will stop playing once the disguise is removed.
Players' eyes will no longer float above their disguise when viewed from the front.
Merfruit
Mermaids spawned after ships sink will now disappear when mermaid suppression is active.
The notification shown when mermaid suppression is over now shows the correct image.
Crouching
Players can now crouch again after using the wheel, capstan or other ship interactions.
Players attempting to interact with a cannon or ladder while crouched will now be able to leave the interactable.
The crouch tutorial will now stay on screen until the player crouches again.
Traps
Traps armed with an explosive will now correctly trigger nearby traps.
Trap animations are now working correctly.
Traps can no longer be thrown at players to make them disappear.
Traps will no longer cause game instability when used heavily.
Traps thrown at a ship's mast will no longer appear to float.
Visual and Audio
The player will no longer appear to hold their hands behind their head while swimming with the Root Beer Bottle.
The star chart will remain steady when rotating or changing direction.
Female pirates will no longer appear to stand still when firing the Root Beer Bottle while swimming.
The Root Beer Bottle will no longer merge with a pirate's back on certain character models.
Ship items will now display the correct skin when equipped.
The Grapple Guns in the Emporium will now always appear correctly.
The Motley Mariner Trinket will no longer appear as a duplicate in the Emporium.
The Thriving Wild Rose Jacket will no longer merge with trousers on female pirates.
Pirates' fingers will no longer merge through the map during the Completely Lost Emote.
The Season 14 Plunder Pass now correctly shows the right name and icon.
The belt on the Lunar Festival Costume will now display consistently without texture changes.
The front end now correctly shows Season 14 instead of Season 13.
Text and Localisation
Season 14 trinkets now have the correct descriptions.
Sybil at the Glorious Sea Dog Tavern no longer references Captain Voyages in dialogue.
