Insider Patch Notes 3.1.1.2

Insider Update 3.1.1.2 is now live.  In this update, players can get hands on with some new weapon changes to the Eye of Reach and throwing knives as the team look to further balance combat across the Armoury.

As always, if you encounter any bugs, please head to the Sea of Thieves support site and let our Player Support team know.

Gameplay Improvements

Throwing Knife Balancing

  • A thrown knife will now deal increased damage to its target, providing a more powerful reward for landing this high skill attack.

  • The time taken to bring a knife into an aimed state has been reduced, and the thrown knife speed has been increased, allowing players to throw knives more quickly.

  • The controller rumble when using the throwing knives has been improved to have a softer feel.

Insiders are encouraged to go to the Fort of the Damned at L-14 and meet with other players wishing to test out these new weapon changes.

Eye of Reach Rebalance

  • Players aiming the Eye of Reach will now have to wait for the weapon to be scoped before being able to fire and gain the accuracy advantage. The result will be a slightly longer time to fire and reduce the viability of the weapon in close range encounters.

  • The Eye of Reach now has a slightly faster reload time, allowing players to fire off multiple shots in quicker succession.

Insiders are encouraged to go to the Fort of the Damned at L-14 and meet with other players wishing to test out these new weapon changes.

Pirates of Mischief

Crouching & Stealth

  • Players who have been knocked back by a range of sources will now feel less impact when crouched compared to when in a standing position.

  • Within the input settings, players now have the ability to add a key bind for Hold to Crouch. This is unbound by default.

Live Events

Voyages of Pirate Luck

  • Voyages of Pirate Luck will be delivered as part of a monthly refresh tied to the game's standard monthly updates and consist of simple ‘X Marks the Spot’ maps that lead to valuable loot items.

  • Voyages of Pirate Luck can be found in the Quest Table in the Limited Voyages tab.

  • Some players will be lucky enough to receive a Map of Wonder, a special gold-trimmed map with many more treasures for them to dig up.

For testing, this Voyage will only be accessible on Friday 23rd August between 10AM UTC and 5PM UTC. The Voyage will refresh every half an hour, at :00 and :30.
