Insider Patch Notes 3.0.2.4

Insider Update 3.0.2.4 is now live. Season 13 Commendations have now been added, along with a range of new throwing knives for testing!

As always, if you encounter any bugs, please head to the Sea of Thieves support site and let our Player Support team know.

Season 13

Season 13 Commendations

  • A range of Commendations have been added to the Reputation tab within The Flame Rises, tasking players with taking on the Burning Blade and exploring the Skeleton Camps. Head to the Insiders Feedback thread for a breakdown of all Season 13 Commendations.

The Burning Blade

  • The Burning Blade now emits a fiery beacon, whether it’s controlled by non-player characters or players, that ensures it is visible from across the waves to those wishing to claim its rewards.

Fates of Fortune

Chest of Fortune

  • Crews who retrieve Chests of Fortune can now earn the next Grade of the Fortune’s Favour Commendation, unlocking access to the Fates of Fortune Fishing Rod, Shovel, Pocket Watch, Tankard and Speaking Trumpet.
  • An additional reward has been retroactively added to Grade II of the Fortune’s Favour Commendation, which now contains the Fates of Fortune Gloves. Players who already earned Grade II prior to this update will be able to purchase the gloves from the Outpost clothing stores straight away.

Reaper’s Chests

  • Crews chasing down the tell-tale beacon of the Reaper’s Chest or Reaper’s Bounty can earn the next Grade of the Reaper’s Riches Commendation, and start unlocking access to the Fates of Fortune Hurdy-Gurdy, Concertina and Scar.

Outpost Cosmetics

New Throwing Knives

  • The Outpost weaponsmiths now stock a range of new throwing knives, all locked behind lofty achievements.
  • The Cartographer Throwing Knives are unlocked upon completion of the Triple Threat Thrower Commendation, the Guardians of Fortune Throwing Knives unlock at Allegiance level 50 with the Guardians of Fortune and the Servants of the Flame Throwing Knives unlock at Allegiance level 50 with the Servants of the Flame.

Known Issues

Game Performance

  • With the introduction of the Burning Blade and Skeleton Camps into the world, players will experience impacted game performance while the team work to fully optimise these experiences ahead of launch.

  • Cannonballs fired from the southern cannon at Lookout Point collide with the wooden structure.

The Burning Blade

  • After the Burning Blade is defeated, hostile Obsidian Skeletons continue to appear.

Fixed Issues

Gameplay

  • Players can once again bind the text chat and radial menus to the C or R3 buttons.
  • Skeletons will no longer go straight to a player who is using a hiding emote on the top deck of a ship.
  • The Deadlock Jailer Throwing Knife can now be picked up even if players don't have knives equipped.
  • The Gold Hoarders' Treasure Map quest from Ancient Spire Outpost can now be completed.

The Burning Blade
