Insider Patch Notes 3.0.1.6
Insider Update 3.0.1.6 is now live. In this update, Insiders will be able to dive to Skeleton Camps from the Quest Table and are now free to sprint when holding the new Season 13 weapon items. This build also contains a suite of weapon balancing changes to gunplay – head to the
feedback forums for more information on these changes!

Season 13
Skeleton Camp Raids
- Players will now be able to select a Skeleton Camp Raid from their Quest Table for a chosen Faction, allowing them to dive to this experience on demand.
Sprinting with Weapon Items
- Following Insiders feedback, players are now able to sprint while holding both the Burning Blade of Souls and Obsidian Ashen Winds Skull.
Gameplay Improvements
Following the introduction of two new weapons in Season 12, the team have been monitoring weapon usage across the live experience. To better balance the weapon offering available to players, this update includes a set of changes focused around addressing gunplay balance. For more information behind these changes, head to the

Double Barrel Pistol
- The damage of standard and charged shots from the Double Barrel Pistol has been increased.
- A charged shot now takes less time to charge, allowing players to prepare this heavy damage attack more quickly.
- Hip firing the Double Barrel Pistol is now slightly more accurate.
- Reload time has been reduced, allowing players to reload more quickly and get back into the action.
Blunderbuss
- The damage dealt by each pellet fired from Blunderbuss has been slightly reduced, reducing the total damage output of the weapon.
- Following the reduction in damage above, the Blunderbuss will no longer be able to perform a 1-hit kill on a full health player.
Updates
War Chest Commendation Balancing
- Following the launch of Season 12, the team has adjusted a number of Commendations from the War Chest, reducing the criteria needed to unlock the various grades.
- When using the Double Barrel Pistol to defeat enemy threats, the Blown-Away Bones, Blam of the Damned and Double Deep Trouble Commendations will now progress faster.
- Utilising throwing knives to attack Gunpowder Skeletons will now progress the Keg Knife Kaboom Commendation faster.
- Players wielding Scattershot against enemy threats will find the Holey Wood Holes, Scatter Bones, Spooky Spread and Peppered Meg Commendations have been made easier to obtain.
- Using the Bone Caller to attack skeleton ships will now progress the Skeleton Squared Commendation faster.
- Crews cashing in the Horn of Fair Winds will now find the amount needed for the Storm Sale Commendation has been reduced.
- Players using harpoon tightropes to transfer treasure to their ship will now progress the Carry On Lootin' Commendation much quicker.
Known Issues
Platform Availability
- Due to a packaging issue, this Insiders build will not be available on PlayStation®5.
Game Stability
- Players may experience a high crash rate when playing this Insiders build on Steam.
The Burning Blade
- Ship Milestones for captained ships currently still increase when players are captaining the Burning Blade.
- The Burning Blade of Souls will not appear after the Burning Blade disappears due to becoming stuck.
Skeleton Camps on Demand
- Voyage loot can currently be collected prematurely.
After completing the Voyage, there are no 'Voyage Complete' banners.
Players have a small chance of surfacing at a camp that is already in progress by another crew.
Fixed Issues
Gameplay
- Crews purchasing Captain’s Supplies from the Shipwright should now consistently find their supplies are delivered to their ship’s barrels.
- The Ashen Chest inside the Fort’s Vault at emergent Skeleton Fort World Events will now be unlocked by default.
- Players will no longer become stuck in a slow walking pace if they stow their throwing knife whilst in the throwing pose.
- Golden Treasure Vaults will now consistently have at least three Captain’s Chests upon completion.
- ‘The Lair of LeChuck’ – Players will now be unable to defeat LeChuck inside the church before he has a chance to retaliate.
The Burning Blade
- The hull of the Burning Blade has been updated so that players will no longer see water through some of the planks.
- The Ashen Roar is now able to set Brigantines and Sloops on fire at longer distances.
- Players' heads will not merge through the ceiling when jumping on top of the coffins on the middle deck.
- Skeletons will not fall through the walls of the ship anymore.
- The Burning Blade will not engage in combat with player ships that are at Outposts while it is controlled by an AI crew.
- Items collected from Treasure Chests will no longer be deleted when picked up while holding the Burning Blade of Souls Sword.
- Rain will not occur inside covered areas of the ship.
- When the AI-controlled Burning Blade is defeated, the defeated Skeleton Crew animation will now play at the correct time, without delay.
- The Ashen Roar projectile will now fire correctly and cause damage at the correct time.
Players will no longer encounter an invisible object on the top deck near the middle mast.
The glow in the hilt of the Burning Blade of Souls Sword will remain in sync with the rest of the weapon when bobbing up and down in the water.
Pirate Emporium
- Dogs, Parrots, Cats and Monkeys are now present in the correct tabs in the Pirate Emporium.
Environment
- There is no longer any debris present over a dig spot on the south side of Shipwreck Bay.
Visual and Audio
- Sprinting onto a harpoon tightrope with a weapon equipped will no longer cause the player’s weapon to be visibly equipped instead of playing the tightrope walking animations.
- The Dire Dark Warsmith and Checkmate Cannons will now display correctly at all times when equipped.
- The Dire Dark Warsmith Ship’s Crest will now properly display the ship’s name.
- The middle spoke on the Pet Protector’s Wheel has been updated to make it more visually prominent.
Text and Localisation
- The description of the ‘Quite the Collection’ Commendation has been updated so it includes the requirement to be representing the Guardians of Fortune when handing in Reaper's Bones Emissary Flags to the Mysterious Stranger.
Performance and Stability
- Improved server stability to avoid instances where players are disconnected from their session.
- ‘The Quest for Guybrush’ – Players will no longer experience an unexpected game closure when returning through the Tunnel of the Damned.
