Insider Patch Notes 3.0.1.3

Insider Update 3.0.1.3 is now live. Insiders still have the ability to test out the powerful Burning Blade of Souls and the Obsidian Ashen Winds Skull aboard the Burning Blade ship.

As always, if you encounter any bugs, please head to the Sea of Thieves support site and let our Player Support team know.

Known Issues

The Burning Blade

  • The brazier flames aboard the ship do not currently appear to be attached to the braziers themselves. There is a range of similar clipping/environmental bugs regarding the presentation and geometry of the Burning Blade, where things clip or may not look attached to the ship.
  • When raising the capstan aboard the Burning Blade, the player is able to see inside their left arm.
  • When picking up the Obsidian Ashen Winds Skull, players will incorrectly receive a tutorial prompt for the Horn of Fair Winds.
  • The Ashen Roar flames are currently visible through the deck at the front of the ship.
  • When the Ashen Roar is fired, players standing at the front of the ship will catch on fire.
  • Levitating rats are visible on the lower decks.
  • Upon defeating the Burning Blade, aim assist will still work on the friendly skeletons you’re sailing with.
  • Upon handing in the Burning Blade World Event treasure, Ashen Devout Skeletons will remain friendly to the crew.
  • There is a flickering line visible next to the Burning Blade icon on the map table.
  • The ship’s lanterns do not fully dim when turned off.
  • When respawning on the Burning Blade, the player can respawn in the water outside the ship or inside the ship’s geometry.
  • The Burning Blade ship can get stuck on islands, reefs and rocks. If it gets stuck on an island it will then despawn, ending the World Event.
  • When the Burning Blade is sinking, there is a lot of pixelation where the ship is in the water.
  • The Burning Blade can currently attack ships at Outposts, when these are supposed to be safe areas away from World Events/emergent threats.
  • Players who ram their ship into the Burning Blade do not get any damage for doing so.

The Burning Blade of Souls Sword

  • Attempting to sell the Burning Blade of Souls to the Mysterious Stranger without Pirate Legend status yields inconsistent results.
  • Players are unable to sell the Burning Blade of Souls to a Reaper's Bones Representative at an Outpost, with the tooltip incorrectly advising to take it to the Gold Hoarders.
  • When holding the Burning Blade of Souls and climbing a ladder, the sword will incorrectly locate to the back of the player, as though it was a chest, and appear as if floating behind them.

The Orb of Secrets

  • When attempting to sell the Orb of Secrets to Athena's Fortune, the tooltip advises to take it to the Hunter's Call.

Skeleton Camps

  • When players are interacting with the wheel that spins the star charts, the player’s hands will clip through certain parts of the wheel.
  • The Ashen Devout Skeletons at the Camps will mistakenly attack the crew sailing the Burning Blade.
  • The Camp tower beacon at Barnacle Cay does not toggle off upon completion of the Camp.
  • Players can currently bury items within the Temples.
  • Skeleton Camps do not appear as visible to players until they’ve sailed very closely to the islands.

Pirate Emporium

  • Players can currently purchase individual items from a bundle, even if they’ve already purchased the bundle in its entirety.
  • The scratches on the Pet Protector Ship Cannons are misaligned.
  • The texture on the Pet Protector Ship Hull is misaligned.

Equipment

  • In certain scenarios, players may experience that their equipped compass and pocket watch may clip through their pirate’s hands.

Chest of Rage

  • Firing at the Chest of Rage triggers it to explode more quickly than it should.
  • Using heavy attacks on the Chest takes longer than the standard combo to trigger the chest to explode.

Tall Tales

  • ‘The Lair of LeChuck’ - The player can currently get locked in position after the wedding ceremony takes place.

Captaincy

  • Selling Ashen Chests obtained from Vaults triggers the wrong Ship and Pirate Milestones.

Environment

  • At Hidden Spring Keep, there is a torch to the North East side of the island that appears to be floating.

Stability

  • All players on a crew get an Allmondbeard error when an Ashen Vault Voyage is initiated.

Rewards

  • The date on the Fates of Fortune Pocket Watch does not correctly tick up.

Fixed Issues

Gameplay

  • Damage from throwing knives and the Double Barrel Pistol should now scale in Raid Voyages.
  • Damage from both the Double Barrel Pistol and throwing knives should now scale against Graymarrow.
  • All weapons should now contribute to the enraged timer on Chests of Rage.
  • After purchasing a Ship Renaming Deed from the Emporium, the player is now able to rename their ship as intended.
  • Purchasing a captained ship after initially giving a ship name that is not accepted now shows the correct price.
  • A player using mouse axis inversion should now find this setting works correctly with diving or rising when using the Hourglass of Fate.

Visual and Audio

  • Moving between the What’s New tabs in the menu should no longer cause the wrong background picture to be displayed.

Performance and Stability

  • Selecting Limited Voyages from the Quest Table should no longer cause the game to crash.
