Insider Patch Notes 3.0.0.2

Insider Update 3.0.0.2 is now live. Pop-Up Plunder returns once more for another round of testing, and Insiders are invited to give us their feedback on a new way to access the Pirate Log via the game's Main Menu.

As always, if you encounter any bugs, please head to the Sea of Thieves support site and let our Player Support team know.

Live Events

Pop-Up Plunder

  • Pop-Up Plunder returns for another trial in this Insider build. Treasure will emerge at a set location across all servers for a limited period, and this feature will be used during live special events. Please refer to the Feedback Thread for comprehensive guidelines and scheduled time slots for testing this functionality.

Updates

Pirate Log in the Front End

  • The Pirate Log is now conveniently accessible from the Front End menu when launching Sea of Thieves! Players can now more easily check their Season and reputation progress without the need to navigate the seas.

Known Issues

Throwing Knives

  • Players will find that sprinting while holding a throwing knife and then aiming it makes the camera appear to stutter before slowing.

Double Barrel Pistol

  • When holding Aim and Fire during a reload, the weapon will then return to Aim Down Sights but will be using the default camera sensitivity and not the Double Barrel Pistol sensitivity.

Stability

  • Players can sometimes experience an Almondbeard after voting to scuttle to a new sea.

Fixed Issues

Gameplay

  • The Eye of Reach now deals the intended amount of damage to Ocean Crawlers.
  • Players shooting a ranged weapon at a player holding a Gunpowder Barrel should now consistently hit the keg first rather than hitting the player behind it.

Pirate Emporium

  • The Toe Reach and Blow Bubbles emotes are now both priced correctly in the Pirate Emporium.

Environment

  • The Aurora has received a visual upgrade and should no longer appear with slight ‘streaks’ across the sky.

Visual and Audio

  • The player's body will no longer appear to merge with the Pirate Lord's cane when performing the Clap of Fortune and Point of Fortune emotes.
  • Throwing knives will now behave correctly in the air and water when dropped off a ship.
  • ‘Cursed Rogue’ - The music for the Briggsy skull ritual will no longer start earlier than intended as players approach the Order of Souls tent.
  • 'Maiden Voyage’ - Strange visual effects are no longer present while sailing out from the Maiden Voyage on Xbox One X.

Text and Localisation

  • Several instances of Tall Tale descriptions on the Quest Table have been updated to fix issues with text overlapping and being cut off.

Performance and Stability

  • Updates have been made to address a crash that was occurring when starting the game on Xbox Series X and Xbox One X if the installation had not fully completed.
