Insider Patch Notes 2.9.2.5
Insider Update 2.9.2.5 is now live! With this release, Insiders have the opportunity to try out the upcoming Pirate Emporium and Outpost Cosmetics – giving players an exclusive preview of the items arriving in January’s Content Update.

Progression Rebalance
- Following the introduction of on-demand experiences and refreshed Voyages in Season 11, the progression curves for each Trading Company have now been rebalanced.
- Each Trading Company’s progression is now balanced to reflect the Voyages available, the value of their treasure and the opportunities players have to earn Reputation.
To facilitate testing with this rebalanced progression system, all pirates have been wiped requiring Insiders to start a fresh play-through.

It's time to show off your pirate's style and trial the brand-new items coming to the Pirate Emporium! Pick up cosmetics such as ship liveries, costumes, weapons, pets and emotes using your Ancient Coins.

Outpost Cosmetics
Maestro Clothing Items
- Unleash your bardic charm with the Outpost cosmetics designed for this month, taking inspiration from the enchanting realm of musical performers. These new items are locked behind the Artistic Souls Commendation.
In this build, these clothing items have been distributed to all Insiders' Clothing chests to facilitate testing.
Updates
Sea Rock Visuals
- Sea Rocks have received a polish pass, with weathering and wetness now added to the bases of larger sea rocks to improve the blending into the water.
Known Issues
Sea of Thieves on Demand
- The Trading Company onboarding Voyages are considered work in progress and currently have missing notifications and a range of visual issues.
- A range of existing Commendations currently do not track the correct progress when completing the required criteria.
- All new rewards in the Trading Company Shops currently cost 1 gold to facilitate Insider Programme testing.
- When diving to a Merchant Alliance or Order of Souls Ashen Lord, the incorrect loot is dropped upon event completion.
- When diving to Skeleton Forts, players emerge from water too far from the Forts.
- When attempting to purchase promotions at the Athena's Fortune shop, inaccurate "Available at Reputation Level" offers are shown.
- Players will get hard locked in place when using the "View" button when interacting with the Quest Table.
- When engaging with the Quest Table, a player will automatically select into an Event tab when using the UI.
Fixed Issues
Gameplay
- Gold pouches and the Fortress Storage Key will now consistently appear at Sea Fort locations.
- Players can no longer get a Chest of Fortune from Fort of the Damned.
- Ship Milestone-related Cosmetics are now showing in player’s inventories.
Company Onboarding Tutorials
- The phased Pirate Lord outros during Company tutorials now start at the correct time.
- The dialogue shown during the Merchant Alliance and Order of Souls tutorials is now as intended.
- The Gold Hoarders tutorial cutscene now has complete dialogue.
Sea of Thieves on Demand
- When undertaking the Ashen Merchant Medley Captain’s Voyage, the Lost Shipment will now start or end in The Devil’s Roar.
- A range of notifications content no longer show placeholder text.
- Buying promotions in any Company shop no longer costs gold.
- Voyage Cards on the Captain’s table now present as intended.
- The prompts that appear after selling Company-specific loot no longer referencing purchasing Voyages.
- When diving to an Athena’s Fortune Siren Shrine, the hero item should now be the Athena’s Fortune Talisman, instead of a Coral Chest.
- ‘Fate of the Morningstar’ - The Ferryman now appears in the correct location.
- ‘Fate of the Morningstar’ - The final cutscene now begins on the Ferry of the Damned.
- ‘Fate of the Morningstar’ - When starting the Tale from the Quest Book, the Ferryman now starts the appropriate introductory cutscene on the Ferry of the Damned.
Visual & Audio
- Banners now appropriately display Guild names when in range of viewing them via Spyglass.
- The Trader Gloves no longer clip with larger character models.
