Insider Patch Notes 2.9.2.2

Insider Update 2.9.2.2 is now live. Insiders are invited to explore the depths of underwater Shrines, as our latest World Events On Demand are now open for testing! Additionally, players can indulge in an exclusive sneak peek at the upcoming Seasonal cosmetics that will be introduced in Season 11, while also putting the new settings for Server Authoritative Hit Markers to the test.

As always, if you encounter any bugs, please head to the Sea of Thieves support site and let our Player Support team know.

Sea of Thieves On-Demand

Shrines On Demand

  • Insiders are now able to dive to underwater Shrines on demand. The On-Demand version of these Events feature an identical gameplay experience to the versions encountered during standard gameplay, including difficulty and wave structures, but players will now see new loot items in the Shrine based on the Faction for which they have chosen to dive.

Seasonal Cosmetics

  • Insiders can now test out the earnable cosmetic items which will be available to players in Season 11. As well as Seasonal progression cosmetics, players will also see new Emissary Ledger rewards.

Updates

Server-Confirmed Hit Markers

  • Following Insider feedback, players will now have an option in the Settings menu to switch from the existing Client-predicted Hit Markers over to Server Authoritative. This will change Hit Markers when striking targets to only show once the hit has been confirmed by the server and will not display when the hit has failed to register. This change will make the hit markers feel slightly less instantaneous than players are used to, as the server needs to confirm the hit before it shows, but players will then gain the confidence of the confirmed hit.

Maiden Voyage Visual Improvements

  • The parting sequence and passage through the Devil’s Shroud during the Maiden Voyage has received a suite of improvements to the visual fidelity, improving the visuals of the shroud itself and clarity of direction for players.

Known Issues

Sea of Thieves On Demand

  • The Voyage sheet is not currently removed from the Quest Table upon completion of a Sunken Shrine World Event.
  • Some of the Gold Hoarders loot items cannot be picked up after completing a Gold Hoarders World Event.
  • There is currently no battle music during Skeleton Bounty fights.

  • If a player obtains Distinction Level 1 for a Trading Company, they will unlock all five levels of Rings for that Company.

Fixed Issues

Gameplay

  • The Captain’s version of Wayfinder Chests now contain Season 11-specific loot.
  • The pop-up notification prompting the player to reload their ammo during the Company tutorials now plays for the correct amount of time.
  • Several Commendations have been adjusted to ensure they progress correctly and at the proper time: The ‘Golden Devil’s Voyager’ commendation will now progress when completing Gold Hoarder Voyages in the Devil’s Roar, Order of Souls World Event Dive commendation will progress when  completing Order of Souls Voyages, and completing Devil’s Roar Voyages for the Order of Souls will now cause the ‘Mystic Devil’s Voyager’ commendation to progress.
  • The Milestones for Voyages Completed and Discovered Quests Completed now progress at the correct time.
  • Players can now enter any of The Legend of Monkey Island Tall Tales at checkpoints without becoming stuck in the Sea of the Damned.
