Insider Patch Notes 2.9.2.1
Insider Update 2.9.2.1 is now live. Insiders can take part in a Scale Test for the headline feature of Season Eleven: Diving! Head to the forums to see how you can take part in this time-limited test! Additionally, the holiday season has arrived in this Insider update and players can enjoy the new seasonal decorations adorning Outposts around the Sea of Thieves, as well as testing out login bonuses for the festive season!

Diving Scale Test
- Insiders can take part in a Scale Test for the new Diving Feature as part of Season 11. The test will take place today, Tuesday December 5th, across two time slots to accommodate players in UK and US time zones. Head to the Forums to see the specific timeslots for this Scale Test.
Updates
Seasonal Decorations and Bonuses
- Ahead of the holiday season, festive decorations and login bonuses are now enabled in Insiders for testing.
- Players should receive the Precious Present Flag upon login along with 24k gold and Skull of Destiny and Cursed Chests Voyages to celebrate the festive season.
- Players will also earn the Grogmanay Tankard to celebrate the upcoming event.
Known Issues
Gameplay
- Players may experience intermittent issues with Trading Company Shops and Outpost Stores in this Insider build, causing purchased items to not appear in their inventory.
Safer Seas
- When choosing to dive to a Voyage or Tall Tale in Safer Seas, players will become trapped in the dive tunnel.
Sea of Thieves On Demand
- The Voyage sheet is not currently removed from Captain's Table upon completion of a Sunken Shrine World Event.
- Some of the Gold Hoarder loot items cannot be picked up after completing a Gold Hoarder World Event.
- The game will unexpectedly close when players try to access any Tall Tale.
- The ‘Voyages’ section for the Hunter's Call and Reaper's Bones on the new Quest Table have overlapping areas of text.
Fixed Issues
Gameplay
- The Captaincy Milestones for Voyages Completed and Discovered Quests Completed no longer increase when diving to a Voyage or event.
- Players completing the new tutorials will no longer be targeted by emergent events such as Skeleton ships or Megalodons while they are still within the tutorial.
- Some Commendation rewards have moved from one Commendation to another due to the fact they will no longer be obtainable in Season 11:
- The Seeker of Lost Maps Title will move from Seeker of Lost Maps to Seeker of Pirate Plunder.
- The Seeker of Lost Souls Title and unlock for purchase Order of Souls Blunderbuss, Cutlass, Pistol and Eye of Reach will move from Seeker of Lost Souls to Worthy Emissary of Souls.
- The Merchant Adventurer Title will move from Merchant Adventurer to Taker of Stolen Stock.
- The Seeker of Athena's Fortune Title will move from Seeker of Athena's Fortune to Worthy Emissary of Athena.
- The Legend of Thieves' Haven Title will move from Ruling with Legends at Thieves' Haven to Retreat to the Thrones' Haven.
- Unlock for purchase The Legendary Treasure Seeker Costume will move from Retreat to the Thrones' Haven to Legendary Treasure Hunter.
- Guild names will now show correctly on the Guild Emissary table, Logbook, Guild Plaque and Guild Invite Emote when the player has the name scrambling setting activated.
- Newly earned Distinctions will now show up in the Reputation tab as they are unlocked and will no longer require a restart to appear.
- The Pirate Lord will no longer offer the ‘Browse Voyages’ option in conversation.
- ‘Shores of Gold’ – The Shroudbreaker figure now appears on the player’s ship as intended, allowing the Tall Tale to progress.
Skull of Siren Song
- Crews who have opted into the Voyage and attempt to Scuttle from the crew settings menu will now be moved out of harm’s way away from other crews, not towards Voyage objectives.
‘The Journey to Mêlée Island’
- Players can head up to the mansion as soon as the guard leaves his post and are no longer blocked by parts of the environment.
- When players have constructed a body for Murray, any players joining them after the initial cutscene will now be able to see Murray’s body as intended.
‘The Quest for Guybrush’
- Players should no longer see a patch of mist on the stairs near the Lookout Point after the fog has cleared from the mountain top.
‘The Lair of LeChuck’
- Players will now be able to rejoin the Tall Tale at a Checkpoint without their Tunnel collapsing.
- There will now be a Quest Book present during the ship chase sequence, so players still have the option of leaving the Tall Tale during this section.
Environment
- Players can no longer become stuck on the palm tree near the Order of Souls tent at Morrow’s Peak Outpost.
Visual and Audio
- The ‘Down the Hatch’ emote visual effects now play as intended when a player performs this emote.
- The pop-up notifications now appear and disappear at the correct times during the new Season 11 Trading Company Tutorials.
- Banners now appear at the correct time when diving to a Skeleton Fleet.
- After completing a World Event you have dived to, the correct Commendation will now be increased.
- After completing a World Event you have dived to, the correct artwork will now be displayed on the ‘Voyage Complete’ banners.
- The ‘Wake up’ animation will now play at the correct time and as intended.
- After diving to and slaying an Ashen Lord, the ‘Defeated’ banners will now display the correct artwork.
- The new Order of Souls tutorial now features banners with the correct Order of Souls imagery.
Performance and Stability
- Players opening the game with poor internet connection will no longer become frozen on the title screen.
- Improved server stability to avoid instances of players being disconnected from their session.
