Insider Patch Notes 2.8.6.9

Insider Update 2.8.6.9 is now live. In today’s build, Insider Pirates can be among the very first to dip their toes into the waters of Safer Seas! Players can experience the Sea of Thieves at their own pace, either solo or with a crew of up to three friends. Additionally, after overwhelming demand, Pop-Up Plunder is back with fantastically fishy loot up for grabs in this new playtest. Insiders can also preview our latest changes to Emissary Quests, making them a more enjoyable and rewarding experience for crews of all sizes.

As always, if you encounter any bugs, please head to the Sea of Thieves support site and let our Player Support team know.

Live Events

*Pop-Up Plunder *

  • Insiders are once again invited to help test out the next iteration of Pop-Up Plunder, this time with a fishy twist! Pop-Up Plunder creates treasure spots at specific locations across all active servers for a limited time, however treasure can only be dug up once per server. Once a crew discovers the treasure on that server and hands it in, it’s gone! Head to the forums to see when testing for this feature will occur.

Sea of Thieves On-Demand

*Emissary Quest Improvements *

  • Following some extremely helpful Insider feedback, several changes have been made to Emissary Quests to help ensure they are always worth completing and reward players for the additional risk of sailing under a Grade 5 Emissary Flag!

*World Events On-Demand *

  • Our next On-Demand World Events are now ready for Insiders to dive into the experience! From the Quest Table, players will be able to dive to both Skeleton Fleet Battles and Sea Forts!
