Insider Patch Notes 2.8.6.1
Insider Update 2.8.6.1 is now live. In this Insider build, why not take a dive to a Sunken Treasury, or take on an Ashen Lord in some new options for the Sea of Thieves On-Demand world events. Pirates will also have the chance to take on the Evil Ghost/Zombie/Zombie-Ghost Pirate LeChuck in our third and final Legend of Monkey Island Tall Tale – The Lair of LeChuck!

Sea of Thieves On-Demand
*Ashen Lord and Sunken Treasuries on Demand *
- Pirates will now be able to ‘Dive’ to Ashen Lord and Sunken Treasuries direct from the Captain’s Table, expanding the choice of experiences available On Demand.

*Controller Aim Assist *
- Aim Assist for Controllers returns in this Insiders build, with further improvements behind the scenes.
*Quick Switching Removal *
- The removal of Quick Switching has returned in this Insiders build, with further improvements to the robustness of the system behind the scenes.
*Experimental Performance Changes *
- Experimental changes are present behind the scenes in this Insiders build, preparing for features coming in the near future. While players should not notice any difference here, please report any significant changes in the Insider forums.
Known Issues
*‘The Lair of LeChuck’ *
- The cannonball barrel will be empty on the ghost ship, meaning that players will be unable to defeat LeChuck in this Insider build.
- The Pirate Lord's subtitles are currently incorrectly labelled "LeChuck". We promise that's definitely the real Pirate Lord... We're pretty sure...
- The icon and preview artwork for the Rootbeer Cannonball appear as a default cannonball.
- Some parts of the Island occasionally show a green lighting effect, which has numerous visual effects.
- Rocks will appear and disappear throughout the ship chase.
- Descriptions for Checkpoints/Chapters are currently incorrect.
*Guilds of Gold *
- Guild names sometimes show incorrectly in player’s logbooks.
- No damage is visible on Captained or Guild ships in the frontend ship preview.
- Guild Names no longer appear on Guild Reputation notifications.
- Occasionally the ‘Invite Friends’ menu does not show all available friends.
Fixed Issues
*‘The Lair of LeChuck’ *
- When starting the Tale from a checkpoint, the Idol now appears in the stone hand and now on the floor next to it.
- The Mast at the location for the second Idol now appears destroyed, as intended.
- Subtitles have now been added to the cutscene on the ship after giving Guybrush the Head of the Navigator.
- Guybrush and Elaine will now appear in the correct positions next to the cannons on the Ghost Ship.
- The Monkey Totem on Monkey Island now behaves correctly.
- The player is no longer able to see two instances of Guybrush if they enter the catacombs too quickly.
- The prompt to talk to Elaine at the end of the Tale no longer contains placeholder text.
- Tree stumps containing supply cache key now open correctly.
- Several floating rocks have been removed from the skies above Monkey Island.
- Guybrush’s necklace now becomes invisible at the same time he becomes invisible.
- Character names are now present at the beginning of subtitles.
- Music now plays correctly when starting the Tall Tale from a checkpoint.
- Players can now interact with Herman's Chest key, and it will no longer sink into the ground after a short period.
- Player is now able to pick up the empty jar from the table.
- There will no longer be a cannon and barrel next to the masts.
- Players are now able to place the gummy on the cage with the totem inside.
- There is now a prompt to place the Gunpowder Gummies on the cage
- The Suntan Oil will no longer appear sunk into the sand
- Elaine will no longer appear graphically incorrect from a distance when on the Mad Monkey Ship.
- Movement around the area where the church seats were before the Wedding cutscene will no longer feel buffered.
- LeChuck's eyes are no longer missing their signature red glow.
- The stone monkey tower will now appear as if it has been smashed when joining after completing the catapult flow.
- The mast is no longer intact when joining after completing the stockade flow.
- The supply cache key is no longer invisible inside the wooden carving
- Within the Catacombs, players are now prevented from reaching areas they shouldn't be able to access.
- The Mad Monkey ship no longer gets trapped in certain places while chasing LeChuck’s ship.
- Players should no longer be able to see gaps in the walls and ceiling of the Catacombs.
- The rowboat oars found on the beach will no longer float above the ground.
- Lighting and textures should remain consistent throughout Monkey Island the Catacombs.
- The steps of the Monkey Head now work as intended.
- The Mad Monkey will not respawn after sinking fully.
- The Head of the Navigator now loads with the correct level of detail.
- Players can now interact with the fallen mast as intended.
- Empty Jars and Hollowed Coconuts will no longer disappear after a certain amount of time.
- Rocks and foliage will no longer float on Monkey Island.
- The Head of the Navigator will no longer be invisible when Guybrush hands it to the player.
- Players will no longer be able to interact with Guybrush during the "Book" cutscene in the Catacombs.
- There will no longer be a duplicate book when Guybrush interacts with the book in the Catacombs.
- LeChuck’s Ghost Ship will now appear as intended.
- Rootbeer will now be visible before it is picked up by the player during the final fight.
- All the prize items found in cereal boxes will now respawn in their starting spots as expected.
- The rum bottles around Herman’s camp should now work as intended.
- The "Gather Crew" text that appears at the church door no longer contains the words “[PH] placeholder”.
- The player will no longer see a bright orange light when approaching LeChuck’s Ghost Ship for the final chase.
- The Tall Tale book will now be present on the Captain’s Table after players start the Tale.
- Placeholder text for Guybrush has been replaced.
- The memoire spot on Monkey Island now aligns with the crates.
- Herman will now drop the key as intended after players shake him three times.
- Players will no longer become trapped inside parts of the scenery on the Eastern side of the island.
- The portal will not appear correctly at the end of the Tall Tale.
- The switch outside the gate of the Monkey head will now appear as intended when the player is nearby.
- There is no longer a sitting prompt on the southern beach.
- The Golden monkey Idols are no longer visually smaller compared when wielding them and then placing them.
- The head of the Navigator will no longer become illuminated with the blue glow from Guybrush.
- The items taken out of the cereal boxes, will now appear to be sitting correctly on top of the boxes after the player leaves the area.
- Guybrush will now be holding the correct book in catacombs cutscene.
- When cycling through Guy brush’s dialogue at the start of the tale, the initial dialogue will no longer be repeated.
- Players can now walk around the crashed ship on Monkey Island with no stifled movement.
- when leaving the area to forfeit the fight with LeChuck players will now see the correct notification for this.
- Players can now re-enter Church to fight LeChuck even if they re-join a session during the wedding sequence.
- Coconuts will no longer appear to float when picked up and placed back down.
*Sea of Thieves On-Demand *
- When diving to the Ghost Fleet Encounter, the correct prompt is now shown on the captain’s table.
- Players should now find that the Ashen Medley of Order of Souls Voyages scale correctly.
- Crews of 4 players now have a chance of being ambushed by enemy skeletons during Lost Shipment Voyages.
*Guilds of Gold *
- Captaincy and Guilds will now load correctly with no continuously loading spinners.
- Athena’s Fortune flags will now be attributed to the correct faction when sold to the Sovereigns, depending on which faction the player is aligned to at the time of sale.
- The highest position in the Guild Ledger will now show as receiving rank 1.
- Turning the ‘Disable Guild Notifications’ setting On whilst in-game will now apply the setting.
- After restoring your ship, the preview in the front-end menu will now show your ship in pristine condition as intended.
- The Guild plaque will now consistently appear with the correct colour and texture.
- Gamertags will be shown instead of ‘Anonymous’ when looking at ships that are out at sea in the Fleet view.
- While sailing on a ship pledged to a Guild, players will no longer see the option to join a session they are already sailing in.
- Newly created Guilds' Guild Level will show as level 1 as intended.
- If two players attempt to set sail on the same ship from the Guild at the same time in two individual sessions, a notification will show to indicate that the attempt has failed.
*Environment *
- Sea Fort keys dropped by Captains will no longer become stuck in the environment.
- Players will no longer be able to walk through the wooden barricade behind the mining skeleton in the Reaper’s Lair.
- ‘Captains of the Damned’ - Players are no longer able to see through the wall of the fort in the Tale’s second chapter.
- ‘Captains of the Damned’ - The lanterns on the Wicked Wench now behave correctly.
*Visual and Audio *
- The Merchant Alliance Pistol has been polished and now shows the correct texture on its metal parts.
