# Insider Patch Notes 2.8.0.4

Insider Update 2.8.0.4 is now live. Do you long to be recognised as the true medical professional that you are? Then why not try the new Sawbones cosmetics. Don the mask and surgical gloves as a true Master of Medicine (plus it just looks really cool). Try the new Sawbones collection along with a plethora of other new items within the Pirate Emporium this insider build.

## Pirate Emporium

**Sawbones Ship Set**

* Spread your medical 'expertise' across the Sea of Thieves with the Sawbones Ship Collection. Premium items such as Collector’s Figurehead and Sails available individually.
* For Pirates looking for the bare necessities a Sawbones essentials ship set will also be available to purchase.

**Sawbones Cosmetics Bundle**

* Don the mask of those who do not falter in the face of pestilence with these well-worn items of medical gear.

**Sawbones Weapons Bundle **

* These weapons might have seen better days, but they'll never fail to get the job done.
* Included within this bundle is the Sawbones Pistol, blunderbuss, eye of reach and cutlass.

**Sawbones Trinket **

* You never know when you might need a flask of eyeballs close at hand.

**Stand Off Emote Bundle**

* A pirate knows better than to enter any situation unarmed, so be ready to react with this weapon-specific emotes.

**Clapping Freebie Emote**

* This kind of enthusiasm should be reserved for only the most impressive of feats. Or explosions.

**Sawbones Surgery Bundle (Store Only)**

* Medical science is a developing field, but still as rough and ready as anything else on the Sea of Thieves. For now, you can at least look the part and come equipped for spontaneous procedures! The Sawbones' Surgery Bundle contains the Sawbones Clothing Bundle and Weapon Bundle, the Quick Draw Weapon Pose Emote, 550 Ancient Coins to spend in the Pirate Emporium and a free bonus of 25,000 gold.

## Outpost Cosmetics

**Order of Souls Cosmetics **

* Gain Madame Olivia’s approval within the order with a range of clothing, weapons and equipment now in stock at the Outpost stores.

## Updates

**Ship Scuttle Cooldown **

* Pirates choosing to scuttle their ship and change seas will now find there is a short cooldown before being able to do so again.

**Ghost Fleet Encounter Balancing **

* The Damage required to sink The Burning Blade, Captains ships and Formation leaders ships during a Ghost Fleet encounter has now been reduced.

**Video Player **

* Players will once again be able to see a video when first logging into the game and view a variety of topical videos within the What’s New section of the front-end menu.

**Narration Playback Speed **

* Players using Let Games Read To Me now have additional control within the settings menu to adjust the speed of the narration. This will allow players to set a speed that is the most convenient and comfortable for them.

## Known Issues

**Ship Scuttle Cooldown  **

* Crews who choose to scuttle but stay on their current server may become locked in an indefinite cooldown that will not allow them to select the option again.

**Pirate’s Log Season UI **

* Players on lower spec hardware may experience issues when browsing the Pirate Log, finding they are unable to navigate to the active Season to check progress, Trials and Deeds. Players are still earning season renown for their actions and progress through the Season can be checked on the Sea of Thieves website.

**Captain’s Logbook **

* Players may find that after discovering a logbook floating at sea, that the events log pages suddenly become blank after reading.

## Fixed Issues

**Gameplay **

* Barrels that have been jettisoned will no longer sink after a certain amount of time even if player is nearby.

**Captains of Adventure **

* Players will no longer experience graphical issues when leaving a Captained Session and joining a new session. 
* Placing a Captain's Logbook in a Collectors Chest will no longer make it loses it's customisations or its events Log section. 
* When players hold a Captain's Logbook they will no longer have a prompt to pick up treasures stored in a Collector's chest which will delete those items instead. 
* The Captain's Logbook is now showing it's inside page customisations as intended.

**Port Merrick **

* Shoreline and coastal wave sound effects no longer sound aggressive in some locations around the port. 
* Players are now able to scale the stairs in Sovereign building. 
* Players standing on the stonework walls surrounding the Dry Dock will no longer appear to float. 
* Players will no longer intersect with the roof of the Shipwright building. 
* The New Pirate Code has now been made easier for players to read.

**Pirate Emporium **

* When previewing the gold crown cosmetic players will now be able to see what it looks like on their pirate.

**Text and Localisation  **

* When players chat to Larinna about the current season, she will now mention season 9 content as intended. 
* The text for the Fortune's Favour commendation has now been corrected to represent that handing in the Chest of Fortune at a variety of locations will count towards the commendation.

**User Interface**

* When purchasing from one of the tabs within the shipwrights captains voyages shop, the player will no longer be reset to be on the "All" tab.

**Visual and Audio **

* The Sweet Treats Capstan now blends more seamlessly with the pool of chocolate when being raised and lowered. 
* White corners are no longer visible on the Season 9 Title Screen. 
* Pirates striking another ship with cannon fire will no longer hear other game music quieten for an extended period. 
* When playing some videos in the what’s new section, the video will no longer become out of sync. 
* The Mysterious stranger and can no longer sometimes be seen with checkered textured trousers and a low-resolution face. 
* After raising and lowering an emissary, within the radial user interface, players should now see the emissary they have chosen as active.

**Performance and Stability **

* Increased server stability to reduce instances of players being disconnected from their session.
