Insider Patch Notes 2.7.0.1
Insider Update 2.7.0.1 is now live. With Season Eight on its way to retail, new updates are back on the menu. New improvements have been made to sword blocking making it more reliable than ever before and for those who keep accidently sitting on the map table we now have you covered as well through being able to disable these interactions.
As always, if you encounter any bugs, then please head to the
Sea of Thieves support site and let our Player Support team know.
Gameplay Improvements
Disable Trinket and Sitting Points
- Players can now choose to reduce the interaction points found around a ship. Interaction points for sitting locations and areas where Trinkets can be placed can now both be disabled independently in the ‘Input Settings’.
Barrels of Plenty Balancing
- The number of floating barrels that appear in a group has now been reduced, however the likelihood of finding rare items in these has now been increased.
Known Issues
Battle for the Sea of Thieves
- When joining the fight and diving beneath the waves, crews may experience an extended wait and be returned to the nearest Outpost.
- Crews entering the Tunnels of the Damned after having previously joined a Faction for battle will be destroyed after passing through the portal. In a future update, crews will be prevented from travelling through these Tunnels after joining their chosen Faction.
New Golden Sands Outpost
- As the citizens of New Golden Sands continue with construction, the Outpost is considered a work in progress. The team are not currently looking for feedback and bug reports for this area.
Fixed Issues
Gameplay
- When using an Xbox controller whilst playing on PC, if the controller disconnects during your session players will now be able to reconnect their controller without issue.
Combat
- Players engaging in melee combat and blocking with a sword will find the block now consistently prevents the player from taking damage.
Battle for the Sea of Thieves
- When resurfacing from below the waves players should no longer experience instances where the sea does not appear correctly.
- After completing either the Ritual of the Flame or Blessing of Athena’s Fortune the player’s equipment wheel will no longer flicker when navigating through it.
- Players on a custom server will no longer be able to join a Faction using The Hourglass of Fate.
