Insider Patch Notes 2.6.3.11

Insider Update 2.6.3.11 is now live. Today is our last Season Eight Scale Test and the last chance for you to earn rewards before it launches in retail! To sail into battle, simply choose your Faction using the Hourglass of Fate and then unfurl your war map to vote to dive below the waves.

As always, if you encounter any bugs, then please head to the Sea of Thieves support site and let our Player Support team know.

Battle for the Sea of Thieves

Scale Test

  • Today is our last Scale Test! Gather your crew, sharpen your blades, prepare to put your PvP skills to the test and in return you will be handsomely rewarded when Season Eight launches in retail!
  • The Scale Test will be split into two sessions; 4pm-7pm (UTC) and 11pm-2am (UTC). To take part players simply join a Faction of their choosing and unfurl their war map and dive into battle.
  • Crews successful in battle during these Scale Test windows will earn one level of reputation in the represented Faction per win, up to a cap of five wins on each Faction. This reputation will be awarded to each player's main pirate in retail on the launch of Season Eight!

Decreased Battle Area

  • The battle area for larger ship types has been reduced to bring ships closer together for their encounter.

Season Eight

Season Eight Emissary Ledger Rewards

  • Representing the Gold Hoarders in their Emissary Ledger can now earn players the Tribute Peak Banjo and Hurdy-Gurdy.
  • Players seeking out the secrets of the Order of Souls can earn the Relic of Darkness Banjo and Hurdy-Gurdy.
  • The Merchant Alliance honour their high-performing Ledger representatives with the Merchant Ambassador Banjo and Hurdy-Gurdy.
  • Flying the flag of The Reaper’s Bones and earning a high rank in their Ledger can earn players the Masked Renegade Banjo and Hurdy-Gurdy.
  • Legendary pirates representing Athena’s Fortune in their Ledger can earn the Magpie’s Glory Banjo and Hurdy-Gurdy to show their allegiance to the Pirate Lord.

To aid with testing players will find these rewards within their equipment chests on their ships, ready for them to try them out for themselves.

Adventures

‘The Rogue’s Legacy’

  • ‘The Rogue’s Legacy’ Adventure has now been disabled in Insiders. While further fixes will be made ahead of the Adventure’s launch next month, the team would like to thank players for all their feedback and helping shape this latest Adventure.

Known Issues

Battle for the Sea of Thieves

  • After descending beneath the waves to hunt a rival crew, players visiting Siren Shrines in that session may experience a visual issue where areas of the underwater environment are incorrectly lit and have become visible.
  • Brigantine crews surfacing from the deep to battle may experience a short period while underwater where the sea visibly disappears and then reappears.

Outpost Store Purchases

  • Players will experience a game crash when purchasing items at Outpost stores.

Fixed Issues

Battle for the Sea of Thieves

  • Crews are now prevented from leaving the fight at an Outpost while a battle is in progress.
  • Players holding a resource crate when matchmaking will no longer find the crate removed from the ship and will no longer see a Merfolk storage notification.
  • Players should no longer hear the ambient audio heard while travelling beneath the waves in other areas such as the Ferry of the Damned or within Siren Shrines.
  • Players can no longer repeatedly drop Collector’s Chests with items inside on their ship and gain additional Faction Treasure Grade.
  • Players no longer receive Milestone progress towards Battles Completed when scuttling during a battle.
  • Players with an Allegiance streak will no longer retain their visual effects if leaving the fight after migrating across servers.
  • After losing a battle, players should no longer become locked in a black screen when migrating away.
  • After taking part in a battle, crews should now be able to take part in another.
  • After losing a battle, if a player has died and is on the Ferry of the Damned when they exit they will migrate away with their ship instead of going back to the same server.
  • When you cancel matchmaking, player pirates no longer have their movement affected for a short time.
  • Players can no longer be hunted after having voted to hunt a rival crew at the same time.
  • After an invasion has concluded, players can no longer be attacked by a Kraken instantly.
  • Reaper’s Lair music no longer persists after leaving by the Mermaid Statue.
  • Players should no longer be timed out when below the waves, waiting to resurface on another player.
  • When in the dialogue menu with the Pirate Lord the fourth option has been corrected to ‘What's so great about being a Guardian of the Sea?’
  • The player should now see their own Faction icon on their ship in the map table.
  • Dagger audio effects will now be heard when players vote to join a Faction using the Hourglass of Fate as intended.
  • The Faction ship icons on the map table no longer overlaps with other icons like the Reaper flag and Reaper chests.
  • Players who watch another crew member take part in the ritual cutscene should no longer see strange textures on the other crew members skeleton body or that their body model changes at the end of the cutscene.
  • The characters on the splash screen no longer look too bright and blurred when using a HDR supported setup.
  • Leaving the faction via voting after reaching max rank and migrating will no longer cause the bow particles / effects to remain.
  • The description for the Servants of the Flame commendation "Rising Up" will no longer inform the player to earn Athena's Fortune Emissary value rather than Reaper's.
  • A typo in the Guardians of Fortune description has now been corrected.

Captains of Adventure

  • Players can now pick up a Captain’s Log after the crew has left the server and it will display a scrambled ship name.
  • When players leave the server, their ship will no longer drop a Captain’s Logbook with no ship name.
  • Players will now receive an error notification when attempting to buy a ship stock offer from the shipwright if their ship has become too full to accept the stock in the time between opening the shop and requesting the purchase.

Visual and Audio

  • Storm audio effects can now be heard as expected when inside a tavern during a storm.

Performance and Stability

  • Holding the "Pirate Chat" button will no longer cause server instability.
