Insider Patch Notes 2.6.2.5
Insider Update 2.6.2.5 is now live. As we head towards our October update, we are now limiting our feature set to those being delivered as part of this upcoming release, and Sea of Bones has therefore been disabled. The team’s next adventure ‘Return of the Damned’ has also made its way to Insiders for initial testing!
As always, if you encounter any bugs, then please head to the
Sea of Thieves support site and let our Player Support team know.
Adventures
While the valiant efforts of brave pirate crews successfully vanquished the menacing Herald of the Flame, they unwittingly fulfilled the dark prophecy and the Festival of the Damned is almost here…
‘Return of the Damned’ Technical Test
- Belle has not given up hope and plans to subvert the Reaper’s ritual and banish Flameheart’s spirit to the Sea of the Damned for good. She calls for pirates to meet her on Shipwreck Bay and join the cause!
- The ritual has begun, and the Servant of the Flame is now channeling dark powers to resurrect his father’s corpse. The Servant of the Flame summons those loyal to the fight to join them at The Reaper’s Hideout to protect the ritual at all costs.
- Crews should seek out the Sea Forts and claim them for their chosen faction by raising the flag, strengthening their connection with the Sea of the Damned.
- Pirates will ultimately need to choose whether to side with the Pirate Lord or with Captain Flameheart and join in the global community effort to determine the fate of the world as we know it. Players can earn rewards for siding with each faction, serving as Mementos of the time players helped decide the fate of the Sea of Thieves. An exclusive Title can also be earned for completing all Deeds in this Adventure.
Known Issues
Proposing Voyages
- Players are currently unable to propose Voyages on the Captain’s Table.
‘Return of the Damned’ Technical Test
- This is an early preview of the Adventure and therefore may contain placeholder imagery, models and text.
- This early preview does not yet contain the visual cues for players to determine the current state of the tug-of-war between the two factions live within the world, these will be delivered in a future Insider’s update.
- While crews can recover bewitching dolls from within the Sea Forts and return these to their chosen faction, the encounters with the Soulflame Captains enabling pirates to energise the effigies are not ready for testing and will become available in a future Insider’s update.
- Crews that claim all six Sea Forts to a specific faction and return a bewitching doll will find the Sea Forts do not reset, preventing further progression in the Adventure.
- Crews may find that Phantoms of the same faction may still attack on sight.
Captain’s Bookcase
- Purchasing or discarding Voyages from the Captain’s Bookcase does not currently change the visual state of the bookcase.
Fixed Issues
Pirate Emporium
- The Graveyard Gladiator Weapons Bundle now includes the Eye of Reach.
- The Juggling Pumpkin and Victory Cackle emotes now have finalised iconography in the Emote Radial.
- The Juggling Pumpkin and Victory Cackle emotes now narrate correctly when ‘Let Games Read to me’ is enabled.
- Previewing the Evildoer Emotes within the Emporium now shows animated previews of the player’s pirate.
- The Evildoer Emotes can now be equipped to the emote radial after purchasing.
- Placeholder text has now been replaced with finalised copy across the Pirate Emporium.
Captains of Adventure
- Players choosing to enable ‘Replace Gamertag’ on ship banners will now find the setting persists across sessions.
- Players swapping Trinkets in quick succession will now find the correct Trinkets remain applied when starting the next session.
- Players discarding Captain’s Voyages in quick succession will now find the correct Voyages in the bookcase when starting the next session.
- Crews returning to the Sea of Thieves after visiting the Sea of the Damned should no longer see the ship crest visual effects.
Text and Localisation
- The ship selection screen now correctly displays text in Turkish & German languages.
Performance and Stability
- Improved server stability to reduce scenarios where crews are removed from a game session.
- Client stability has also been improved, reducing scenarios where players experience a game crash.
