Insider Patch Notes 2.6.0.6
Insider Update 2.6.0.6 is now live. A new adventure has landed on the Sea of Thieves! As always Larinna knows all, talk to her at any Outpost to hear what is next in store for daring and courageous pirates such as yourselves.
As always, if you encounter any bugs, then please head to the
Sea of Thieves support site and let our Player Support team know.
Adventures
Even with Merrick now safe, Flameheart and the Reapers Bones’ presence and reach is becoming an ever-growing threat that preys on the Sea of Thieves. Belle calls for players’ help once more to venture deep below the waves in search for ancient mysteries.
‘The Sirens’ Prize’
- After speaking to Larinna at the Outpost, she’ll direct pirates to Plunder Valley where Belle awaits. Belle explains that her plan is to locate three different artifacts long lost within the Mermaid Shrines with the help of the Ancients.
- When exploring these locations players will have to scour, fight off enemies and sometimes solve puzzles to locate the missing artifacts. If players become stuck, they can always talk to their accompanying member of the Ancients who may offer an interesting insight.
- Once all the artifacts have been recovered, they must be returned to Belle at Plunder Valley where she will fuse all the artifacts together.
- It then becomes a race to the top of Plunder Valley to defend the Ancients performing the final ritual. After you fight off all the enemies including the Soulflame Captain and have spoken to the Ancient Priest, the Adventure will be complete.
A Hunter’s Cry
- With ‘A Hunter’s Cry’ live in retail, this Adventure has now been disabled in Insiders.
Sea of Bones
Skeleton Cosmetics
- Within the Reaper’s Lair, worthy pirates can now speak to the Bonesmith and browse their wares. This new merchant will offer players access to a range of new skeleton cosmetics.
- Once purchased, these cosmetics can be equipped using the Ship’s Vanity Chest. First equip the Skeleton Curse, then equip the chosen Skeleton Cosmetic.
Accessibility
*Tooltip Narration *
- Tooltips that appear onscreen when interacting with items across the experience can now be narrated, providing improved accessibility for those with low vision.
- With text-to-speech narration already enabled, players can enable tooltip narration within the ‘Language Settings’ along with configuration options to allow players to define how much of the tooltip is narrated.
Updates
Hit Registration Networking Improvements
- Networking improvements have been made to the location and timing of player shots, providing a small improvement to hit registration for ranged weapons when firing at players on islands.
Known Issues
*Sirens' Prize *
- This is a very early end-to-end playable version of this Adventure’s player experience and therefore contains placeholder imagery and text that is not representative of the end Adventure.
- If another crew on the server has started chapter three, Larinna will not offer the option to start the Adventure. If this occurs, go straight to Belle at Plunder Valley and you will be able to start the Adventure from chapter two.
- If another crew on the same server triggers or completes chapter three, all players on the server will see the banners for Chapter start or completion.
- Players will not receive the intended Memento and Title after progressing through the Adventure's Deeds and completing the Adventure.
- Deeds will be unavailable to players and so therefore cannot be tracked also.
Sea of Bones
- Many of the new skeleton cosmetics will contain placeholder text and imagery.
Tooltip Narration
- When using this feature players may experience a lot of vocal feedback from the Tooltip narrator. We advise reducing your volume settings.
