Insider Patch Notes 2.6.0.2

Insider Update 2.6.0.2 is now live. With ‘A Hunters Cry’ scheduled for release in August, Insiders only have a short window left to play the Adventure. Head over to any Outpost, get chatting with Larinna to hear all about Belle and the Pirate Lord’s plans to save Merrick and start the Adventure.

‘A Hunter’s Cry’ Adventure

This Insider’s update addresses a range of feedback and improvements on the team’s next Adventure ‘A Hunter’s Cry’. Help test out the new Adventure flow and head to the forums to provide your feedback!

Tavern Ascent Improvements

  • Crews arriving in the Sea of the Damned will now be directed towards the lighthouses first and are required to use the lighthouses to reveal the main jetty to safely moor their ship.
  • Once safely on the jetty, crews must light the braziers to release the magical barrier preventing access to the mechanism used to reach the next area.
  • Crews will then once again need the lighthouses to unlock access to the various parts of the ascent route, keep a look out for the braziers! After revealing a new area, a shortcut will appear allowing fallen crew members to return to the route.
  • Improved visual effects when lighting braziers with the Flame of Souls.

Phantom Balancing

  • Ghostly Phantoms that ambush players during the Adventure have been rebalanced, appearing in new locations to thwart crews ascending the lighthouses and tavern.
  • The number of Phantoms that appear during the Adventure have been decreased, however they now appear more frequently.
  • Phantoms no longer wield flintlocks and have instead switched exclusively to cutlasses.

Ghost Ship Balancing

  • Ghost Ships circling the tavern are now easier to dispatch with cannon fire, however fire more frequently.

Adventure Rewards

  • Players completing the Adventure will now be rewarded with the 'Twisted Sea Dog Tavern' Memento, a Trinket which can be placed on a Captain’s Ship as a trophy.

Sea of Bones

Matchmaking Technical Test

  • The Matchmaking Technical Test has now been disabled whilst the team review the data and feedback provided during testing.

Fixed Issues

Gameplay

  • While fishing, nameplates now appear on any caught novelty items and if narration is enabled will also be narrated.

‘A Hunters Cry’

  • Players will now return to their ship and not the main jetty when dying within the Sea of the Damned.
  • If a player sails past the boundaries of the map the environment will no longer disappear.
  • Lighting the beacons will no longer cause some ladders to duplicate.
  • Players diving below water near the lighthouse should no longer be able to go under the environment.
  • The Warsmith audio can now be heard when listening to the second part of their speech.
  • Players can now interact with the gold mounds within the lighthouses.
  • The timing of the portal special effects when coming through the Tunnel of the Damned has been improved.

*‘A Hunters Cry’ – Audio and Visual *

  • The lighthouse braziers are now correctly placed and no longer floating in mid-air.
  • The lantern near the tavern’s pier is no longer floating in mid-air.
  • The subtitles when leaving the Sea of the Damned are now more in sync.
  • The Pirate Lord now plays the correct Voiceover when opening the portal for the Sea of the Damned.
  • The subtitles for the introductory sequence are no longer bunched up in the subtitle box.
  • Players who run away and then come back whilst talking to the Pirate Lord will now be able to continuously hear his voice over.
  • Players should no longer encounter invisible rocks whilst sailing the Sea of the Damned.
  • The Warsmith no longer changes her pose after the player talks to Merrick.
  • The note for Serik now looks as intended in players hands.
  • The correct text will now be displayed when speaking to the Pirate Lord at the dock just after starting the Adventure.

Captains of Adventure

  • Migrating while on a Captains Stash Voyage will no longer cause the server the player just left to experience instability.
  • The correct sails applied to the ship will now be displayed in the players Ships Log.

Environment

  • Players can no longer become stuck between two rocks on Sunken grove.
  • Players can no longer pass through a wooden railing in the Tavern of the Damned
  • Firing a fellow player from a cannon at a Sea Fort no longer can causes them to appear under the fort.

Text and Localisation

  • The word ‘Prompt’ is now spelled correctly within the gameplay settings

Performance and Stability

  • Improved server stability to reduce scenarios where crews are removed from a game session.
