Sea of Thieves support site and let our Player Support team know.
Captains of Adventure
Pirate & Ship Milestones
- Milestones are a permanent record of a player’s accomplishments while onboard a Captained Ship, both those of a Pirate Crew but also those of the Ship itself! These can be accessed via the Ship’s Log within the game Menu.
- Pirate Milestones are personal and reflect the actions players have completed while sailing on a Captained Ship.
- Ship Milestones are achieved by a specific Ship and are earned by the actions performed while aboard the Ship.
- All Milestones are split into Alignments, which represent a type of play-style. Milestones related to earning Gold and selling treasure will progress ‘The Gold Seeker’ Alignment, while those waging war on the seas would progress ‘The Feared’ Alignment. Each alignment offers rewards to unlock in the form of Trinkets, Ship Decorations and Titles.
Captain’s Log
- Players aboard a Captain’s ships will now find a Log on the Captain’s Table. The Captain’s Log provides a record of the crew’s adventures in that session, with a fresh log being started each session. Along with a record of the crew’s journey, the Captain’s Log can be customised to show a player’s preferred lifetime accomplishments for all to see.
- When a Captain’s ship has been sunk, the Captain’s Log will float up, allowing other crews to review the adventures of the ill-fated crew, before selling the stolen Captain’s Log to the Reaper’s Bones. The price paid for a Captain’s Log will increase based on the sailing time of the sunken Captain’s Ship!
Purchasing a Ship
- Players are now limited to purchasing a single ship of each type. Captains who reach Legendary title status with a ship however, will then be offered the ability to purchase another ship of that type.
Shipwright Shops
- When speaking to the Shipwright, players will now see an improved shopfront where players can access the shops for ship customisation, decoration and trinkets all in one place.
Hiding Ship Names
- Content creators choosing to use ‘Replace Player Names’ from the in-game settings, will find that this feature now also replaces the captain’s chosen Ship name with one from a pre-defined list.
Pirate Emporium
New Fox Pets
- Watch out! Some clever critters have been found rifling through the ship's rubbish, looking for scraps! These wily foxes seem the most suited for partnering with an equally tenacious pirate.
In this Insider’s update, players will find a range of foxes within their Pet Chest for testing purposes. These will make their way into the Pirate Emporium in a future update.
Captains Ship Crests
- The Pirate Emporium now offers a small selection of exclusive Ship Crests for Captains. Choose from the Sunken Sorrow, Royal Coronet, Reaver’s, Forgotten Temple or Big Game Hunter Ship Crests.
Ship Renaming Deed
- Captains wishing to rename their ship can now purchase a Ship Renaming Deed from the Pirate Emporium, providing a single rename. All earned progress on the ship will remain after renaming, players will be required to return to the front-end to use this Deed.
Wrecker Wrangler Ship Collection
- Browse all the items in the Wrecker Wrangler Ship Collection, including Premium Collector's Figurehead and Sails.
- If you only want the bare essentials, players can purchase the core components of this proudly piscine ship set with the Essentials Bundle.
Wrecker Wrangler Costume
- This costume is inspired by the Wreckers that dwell down in the darkness, this might just scare the living daylights out of your fellow divers.
- While wearing the Wrecker Wrangler costume, players can perform the Soaked to the Skin emote.
Wrecker Wrangler Weapons
- Festooned with glowing eyeballs, fins and fangs, these four weapons spell deep trouble for people you don't like.
Wrecker Wrangler Fishing Rod
- The object of a bizarre ritual to create a rod that only attracts Wreckers, this rod... doesn't do that at all.
Bilge Rat Weapon Pose Emotes
- Let the enemy decide whether you're dangerous or just drunk with this set of expressive emotes.
Portable Portrait Emote Bundle
- A collection of six emotes for pirates who know they're the most picturesque sight on the seas!
Freebie Promising Portrait Emote
- There's bound to be something worth capturing here, if you can calm down and keep still for a minute.
Spitting Contest Emote
- Following internal review, the Spitting Contest Emote has now been removed from the game. This emote is no longer purchasable within the Pirate Emporium, players having previously purchased the emote will be refunded accordingly in Ancient Coins.
Known Issues
Sea of The Damned Adventure Technical Test
- The Sea of the Damned Technical Test is still active, however as this is an incredibly early previous of the next Adventure, the team are only seeking feedback on the passage to and from the Sea of the Damned at this time.
- Insiders seeking to participate in this Technical Test again within the same session will not be offered the option from Larinna. To gain access to the Adventure Technical Test again, simply leave the game and start a new session.
Captains of Adventure
- The Trinket Box aboard player ships has been removed for the time being in order to prevent certain issues around the Trinket Box that leads to server instability.
- The Captain’s Log is in an early stage of development and contains a range of placeholder imagery and text.
- The ‘Gold Earned’ milestone is not tracking correctly within the Captain’s Log.
- Rewards currently will not be given out to players who unlock enough classes in alignments.
- When launching the game, players may experience the “Captain My Own Ship” option showing an infinite loading wheel. As a workaround, players should exit and return to the game.
- Captains may see the prompt "To purchase this item you must own a Captain's Ship" when trying to purchase ship crests or renaming Deeds at the Pirate Emporium, even though they are a captain.
- Part of the Pirate Lord tutorial will ask players to interact with the Voyages bookcase which is currently not set up. Players can get around this by interacting with the prompt that appears on the Pirate Lord when asked to interact with the Captain’s Voyage storage.
- Crewmates can inadvertently progress the Captaincy tutorial by entering the Captain’s Cabin when the captain is asked to interact with the Captain’s Log.
