Insider Patch Notes 2.5.3.3
Insider Update 2.5.3.3 is now live. A new Technical Test has arrived in Insiders ahead of the next Adventure, ready for some rigorous testing. Head to any Outpost and speak to Larinna to find out what’s in store.
As always, if you encounter any bugs, then please head to the
Sea of Thieves support site and let our Player Support team know.
Adventures
While the Forsaken Hunter Adventure has not yet reached our retail players, Insiders now have access to a Technical Test of an incredibly early preview of the next Adventure. This Technical Test focuses on the passage to and from the Sea of the Damned, the location of our next adventure!
Sea of The Damned Adventure Technical Test
- We need your support Insiders - Speak to Larinna to start this Adventure and join the Technical Test!
- After speaking to Larinna, follow her instructions to speak to the Pirate Lord before heading to the nearest Tunnels of the Damned to meet other crews in the Sea of the Damned.
- On arrival in the Sea of the Damned, cancel the Adventure from the Captain’s Table and return to the Sea of Thieves.
Captains of Adventure
Trinket Nudging
- When a Captain’s ship experiences an impact from a range of sources, players may now find their Trinkets have shifted out of position. Players can interact with a Trinket to nudge it back into the correct position, to get them looking nice and neat aboard their ship again.
Trinket Box
- When players go back to their Trinket Box, they will find it is now overflowing with new Trinkets ready for placement aboard their ships.
Ship Customisation Memory Optimisations
- With the increase of ship customisation options arriving with Captains of Adventure, memory optimisations have been made to protect lower spec hardware. Players on older consoles or lower spec PC hardware may find that when multiple highly decorated ships come together, the game will optimise performance by changing the appearance of some ship customisations.
- Players on PC will continue to have the ability to configure how much system memory can be allocated to these decorated ships, ensuring higher-spec hardware can show a wider range of customisations.
Known Issues
Sea of The Damned Adventure Technical Test
- Insiders seeking to participate in this Technical Test again within the same session will not be offered the option from Larinna. To gain access to the Adventure Technical Test again, simply leave the game and start a new session.
Captains of Adventure
- Trinket nudging does not currently work onboard a Sloop.
- Captains may see the prompt "To purchase this item you must own a Captain's Ship" when trying to purchase ship crests or renaming Deeds at the Pirate Emporium, even though they are a captain.
- Players can remove a Trinket another player has already placed and put it in their newly selected spot.
- When launching the game, players may experience the “Captain My Own Ship” option showing an infinite loading wheel. As a workaround, players should exit and return to the game.
- All Trinkets placed by players do not currently persist between sessions.
- After restoring a ship on the front-end, the gold counter will not register the change correctly until the player loads into the game.
- Selecting the ‘Restore Captained Ship’ option when interacting with the Shipwright merchant does not currently restore players ships.
Fixed Issues
Gameplay
- Players on Xbox will no longer be offered the option to ‘Recentre mouse in menus’ in the in-game settings menu, even when connecting a mouse to the console. This feature is not available on consoles.

- Players should no longer be able to place Trinkets on non-captained ships.
- Trinkets placed on a Galleon will no longer intersect with the curtains aboard the ship.
- The Sovereign’s hut at Morrow’s Peak is no longer missing certain seating points.
Stools
