Insider Patch Notes 2.5.3.2

Insider Update 2.5.3.2 is now live. A refreshed set of trials and Deeds for Season Seven that players can progress through is now available, along with the long-awaited addition of the Trinket Box which allows players to choose what Trinkets they place aboard their ship. Fill your ship with Trinkets to your hearts content, then head over to the forums to give your thoughts.

As always, if you encounter any bugs, then please head to the Sea of Thieves support site and let our Player Support team know.

Captains of Adventure

Trinket Box

  • When players explore the ship, Trinket points can now be interacted with and allow players to choose between their owned Trinkets. Each ship provides a range of Trinket locations, including walls, barrels and shelves, and only appropriate Trinkets are shown when interacting with a spot.

  • Insiders will be provided with a limited number of Trinkets to support testing.

New Trinket Locations

  • The interior dressing of the Sloop and Brigantine has been rearranged to support additional Trinket spots.
  • Across the Sloop and Brigantine interiors, some damage locations have been moved to support additional Trinket spots. The Sloop has had a single damage location removed from the front-right side, whereas the Brigantine has had a single damage location removed from the rear-left side.

Sovereigns Hut

  • The Sovereigns have reconstructed their huts and can now be once again found inside for players to interact with and sell loot to.

Season Seven

Season Seven Progression and Rewards

  • Season Seven offers a refreshed progression path with Trials and Deeds for new and experienced pirates alike. Weekly, monthly, and Seasonal goals all reward players for exploring the Sea of Thieves.
  • Making progress through the 100 levels of this Season will reward pirates with the new Courage of Captaincy clothing set, along with time-limited Perilous Seas cosmetics.
  • Legendary pirates or those who become a Pirate Legend during Season Six can also earn Merrick’s Jacket and Cutlass.
  • Completing tiers of Seasonal progression will also award unique “Perilous Seas” Titles, allowing players to display their success for all to see.

With the correct Trials and Deeds now in place, players will now have their seasonal progress reset and will no longer be provided a Renown accelerator to ensure players progress at the intended rate.

Outpost Cosmetics

Rusty Cutlasses Restocked

  • The Outpost Armory has been restocked with a range of old cutlasses, where pirates can once again purchase the Grand Admiral, Castaway Bilge Rat, Scurvy Bilge Rat and Ruffian Sea Dog Cutlasses.

Additional Sail Colours

  • The Outpost Shipwright has added new sails to their wares for players to purchase with gold. The new sails on offer include the Navy Blue Sailor, Burgundy Sailor, Bottle Green Sailor, Orange Sailor and Purple Sailor Sails.

Updates

Map Zoom

  • Players will now be able to zoom in on notes along with Quest Books and Maps.

Cannonball Load Time Changes

  • Following initial testing, the extended load times for both chainshots and cursed cannonballs have been temporarily disabled while the team continue to iterate further.

Known Issues

Captains of Adventure

  • When launching the game, players may experience the “Captain My Own Ship” option showing an infinite loading wheel. As a workaround, players should exit and return to the game.
  • All Trinkets placed by players do not currently persist between sessions.
  • Players can currently place Trinkets on enemy ships.
  • While sailing aboard a Captain’s Ship, if the captain leaves the session – players who disconnect and rejoin the session may find all previously placed Trinkets are now invisible.
  • After restoring a ship on the front-end, the gold counter will not register the change correctly until the player loads into the game.

Fixed Issues

Gameplay

  • Order of Souls Ghost Fleet Voyages should no longer remain in a player’s inventory after completion or upon discarding them.
  • Migrating servers will no longer cause players to be unable to cancel Tall Tales or Voyages that they have started and no longer wish to continue.

Captains of Adventure

  • Unequipping a flag will no longer cause the “Captain Saved” symbol to appear over the unequip icon.
  • Putting up a painting on a Galleon should no longer intersect with the hull of the ship.
  • The appropriate image for when a captain leaves a session now appears on the notification.
  • Migrating servers with Trinket-laden ships will no longer cause server instability.
  • Curtains in the captain’s cabin will no longer intersect with the cupboard nearby.
  • When looking at Trinkets, the Trinket’s name should now display.
  • The Sovereign’s hair and hats will no longer intersect with the cloth on the Sovereign Hut.
  • Players should no longer become stuck when walking around the mast to reach the Sovereign Hut crow's nest ladder.

Season Seven

  • The final imagery and descriptions have been added to the seasonal progression tracker.

Stools

  • Players should no longer be offered the option to sit on a stool while underwater.
  • When a stool is attached to a harpoon it will now show the correct "cannot sit while attached to harpoon" prompt.

Environment

  • There should no longer be a light source where Tina used to be during the Lost Sands Adventure.
  • The rug at Mercy’s End Fortress should no longer intersect with the floor.
