Adventures
‘Shrouded Deep’ Technical Test
- This Insiders update provides an early preview of the upcoming Adventure ‘Shrouded Deep’. For this Technical Test, head to Larinna to begin the Adventure, before meeting up with Belle and Merrick onboard the Killer Whale at M12.
- On arrival, gather crews ready to battle before interacting with the placeholder ‘Graymarrow’s Orders’ above the ritual table to begin the encounter with the fabled Shrouded Ghost!
- Crews will battle against the formidable Shrouded Ghost alongside Flameheart’s fleet in an encounter balanced for multiple crews.
While other parts of this Adventure are available in this update, this experience is in an early stage of development and the team is only seeking feedback on the final battle triggered by Greymarrow’s Orders at this stage.
Legend of the Veil
Legend of the Veil Commendations and Rewards
- Within the Athena’s Fortune Reputation tab, new Commendations have been added for players working with the Pirate Lord to uncover the mysteries of the Ancients.
- The Legendary Vendors in the Athena’s Fortune Hideout now offer a range of new cosmetic rewards for players, unlocked by the Legend of the Veil. Expanded Athena’s Fortune Ranks and Rewards
- Pirate Legends are now able to continue progressing through the Athena’s Fortune Trading Company up to rank 30. As players progress through these new ranks, they can unlock access to Ancient rewards from the Legendary Shipwright, with the Veil of the Ancients Flag, Hull, Sail, Cannons, Capstan, Wheel and Figurehead.
- Reaching the prestigious rank of 30 within Athena’s Fortune will unlock access to the Veil of the Ancients Costume.
Legendary Fortune Weapons
- With the original Legendary Weapons having now become exclusive with the closure of the Arena, a new set of weapons fit for Pirate Legends have now been made available. The new Legendary Fortune Pistol, Blunderbuss, Eye of Reach and Cutlass are now available from the Legendary Vendors in the Athena’s Fortune Hideout.
Haunted Fort Balancing
- Throwables such as the Firebomb and Blunderbombs now deal significantly reduced damage to Emplacements and Fort Ramparts, to encourage players to utilise their ships cannonballs.
Updates
Dynamic Dialogue Technical Test
- This Insider update provides an extended technical test of the Dynamic World Changes system, allowing changes to be made live within the world without requiring servers to be taken down. For more details on this new system and how to get involved with testing, head to this Feedback Thread for more details.
Known Issues
‘Shrouded Deep’
When starting the encounter from Greymarrow’s Orders on the Killer Whale, both Merrick and Belle will be duplicated and be found in their idle poses and on the nearby cannons.
Merrick and Belle on the cannons are currently incredibly accurate when firing at targets, their accuracy will be reduced in a future update.
Players can push Merrick and Belle off their cannons causing visual issues with their animations.
Expanded Athena’s Fortune Rewards
- The Legendary Shipwright does not currently offer the Veil of the Ancient Hull Livery when reaching Rank 22.
Legend of the Veil
- After starting the Voyage, when leaving the ship behind to progress the quest players may find that the Veil of the Ancients is missing from their ship on return halting progress. Players can return the Veil of the Ancients by sinking their ship and heading to the new ship.
- Following recent Insiders feedback on the changes to Athena’s Fortune rewards earned from the Legend of the Veil Voyage, the team are working to rebalancing the rewards offered during the experience – while no changes are present in this build, updates will arrive in a future insiders build.
- Crews progressing through the Legend of the Veil Voyage at the same time on a server can cause a scenario where two Shipwreck Graveyard sites can be generated in the same location.
- Veil Stones slotted into the Veil of the Ancients can become invisible after a player’s death or upon disconnecting. This is visual only and does not affect the ability to complete or progress on the Voyage.
- Crews migrating servers during the Voyage can cause various issues preventing progress.
Fixed Issues
Gameplay
- Ammo pouches dropped by skeletons will now disappear from islands after a crew leaves.
Sea Forts
- The map in the sea forts’ living quarters now displays ships flying the Reaper’s Flag in addition to Reaper Emissaries.
Players can no longer walk up the sea fort walls in some locations.
Detaching from sea fort cannons should no longer cause players to safe teleport.
Players should no longer be able to find a way into the dock pillars inside the fort and move inside the geometry.
Legend of the Veil Voyage
When starting the Legend of the Veil voyage, crews are no longer shown duplicate notifications for items received.
The Legend of the Veil Voyage once active now prevents that crew from starting a Tall Tale in parallel. Attemptingt to vote to start a Tall Tale will notify the crew that the Legend of the Veil Voyage will be cancelled.
Quest updates offered by Sudds now correctly update inside the Quest Book.
Legend of the Veil – Shipwreck Graveyard
- After completing the Shipwreck Graveyard quest and handing in the Veil Stone, the nearby shipwrecks should no longer disappear.
Legend of the Veil – Haunted Forts
- The swirling vortex no longer disappears as players sail away from the Haunted Fort and pop in when returning.
- Improved collision around Fort Emplacements to prevent ships colliding with geometry after they are destroyed.
Sailing away and then returning to an active Haunted Fort area should no longer cause visual effect issues.
Damaged Emplacements should no longer show a flickering ghostly damage visual effect.
Lightning trails bursting from the vortex to the Emplacements are no longer flashing bright when in foggy conditions. These Lightning trails also stop once the vortex has been destroyed.
The Haunted Fort Battle audio no longer can be heard a long distance away from the encounter.
Hitting emplacements and Fort ramparts with cannonballs no plays the intended audio effects.
Environment
- Players can no longer access the Treasury vault within the Treasury of the Sevret Wilds, prior to it becoming unlocked.
Visual and Audio
- Firing the Cannons using the Blighted Cannon Flare now display the same visual effects when manning the cannons as those observing.
