Insider Patch Notes 2.5.0.1

Insider Update 2.5.0.1 is now live. With our Season Six update going live on March 10th, we open Insiders back up to previewing upcoming features. The Legend of the Veil Voyage has therefore returned along with a suite of improvements and fixes to the experience!

Legend of the Veil

Haunted Fort Encounter

  • When engaging the Haunted Forts, Phantom Cannoneers now adjust their difficulty dynamically based on the ship size approaching to provide a more balanced experience for smaller ships.

Haunted Island Quest

  • The ritual encounter has had an initial balancing pass, improving the efficiency of the Ancients against the Reaper Phantoms.

Updates

Emote Narration Control

  • Players using ‘Let Games Read To Me’ now have the ability to disable emote narration specifically from the game settings to reduce audio overload.

Known Issues

Sea Forts

  • The Bilge Rats Commendation pages do not currently offer the Sea Fort Commendations for testing.
  • Lights from active Sea Forts can currently be seen across the world, these lights are intended to fade out upon leaving the area.

Legend of the Veil

  • Crews progressing through the Legend of the Veil Voyage at the same time on a server can cause a scenario where two Shipwreck Graveyard sites can be generated in the same location.
  • Veil Stones slotted into the Veil of the Ancients can become invisible after a player’s death or upon disconnecting. This is visual only and does not affect the ability to complete or progress on the Voyage.
  • Crews migrating servers during the Voyage can cause various issues preventing progress.

Fixed Issues

General

  • The ‘Disable centered Text’ setting now correctly affects all locations where text can be centered throughout the UI.

‘Forts of the Forgotten’

  • The Ritual markings should now be found surrounding the Enchantment Vessel within the cells.
  • When using the Prison Key, the correct player animation is now used.

Sea Forts

  • After clearing a Sea Fort and sailing away, crews will no longer find they are attacked by the Sea Forts Cannons.
  • While battling Phantoms on Sea Forts, players should no longer find Phantoms become invisible during combat and return visible when hit.
  • Striking a Phantom with a Sword now shows the correct visual effects.
  • When approaching a Sea Fort already completed by another crew, players will no longer find the Store Room door has the previous keys stuck inside them preventing access.
  • After clearing a Sea Fort and returning after it has reset, crews should now find the correct Store Room rewards upon gaining access.
  • Opening the Treasury doors now plays the appropriate audio effects.
  • Mercy’s End Fortresses should no longer have a large gap in the floor textures in the lower area.

Legend of the Veil Voyage

  • Standing on the Veil Totem should no longer cause players to jitter.
  • Quest pages offered by Sudds now fit correctly within his hand.
  • While the Pirate Lord is on board your crew’s ship, he can no longer interacted with by members of another crew to progress the Voyage.
  • Emergent island encounters are now supressed when engaging in zoom, picture and lying maps from Sudds.
  • A range of improvements to Quest Page copy, text alignment and missing imagery.
  • Collected notes now have appropriate iconography in the Quest Radial.

Legend of the Veil – Shipwreck Graveyard

  • Resolved server instability when crews approach a Shipwreck Graveyard site.
  • Revised textures on Galleon hull to minimise stretched textures.
  • The book within the Crimson Revenge now opens smoothly when interacted with.
  • Skulls found within drawers should no longer intersect with the environment.

Legend of the Veil – Haunted Islands

  • When receiving a Quest Page for Snake Island, appropriate artwork is shown for Belle.
  • During the ritual sequence, the chanting audio effects can now be heard fully by all players.
  • Following the ritual sequence, the Phantoms will now fade out smoothly.
  • Ancient Priests summoned during the ritual will now display the correct skin texture and will appear correctly when appearing and disappearing.
  • Phantoms encountered during the ritual encounter now appear as Flameheart's Reaper Phantoms.
  • Ancient Priests will now display appropriate subtitles when speaking.

Legend of the Veil – Haunted Forts

  • Upon destroying an Emplacement, rewards on the stairs and railings can now be picked up.
  • Haunted Forts now have updated textures along with improved geometry.
  • Ancient Chests and the all-important Veil Stone can now be retrieved from the platform when destroying the final Haunted Fort.
  • When engaging the ramparts on the final Haunted Fort, the defending cannons should no longer connect with the environment, causing damage to their own fort.
  • Phantom Cannoneers no longer drop ammo pouches when defeated.
  • Waters around Haunted Fort structures now fade into the sea better.
  • Attacking the Fort Emplacements now plays appropriate destruction audio effects.

Visual and Audio


  • Barrel menus and player inventories now correctly display the resource counters above the surrounding UI.
  • After smashing a crate of rum bottles, dropping the crate onto the ground will now show the correct visual state.
