Insider Patch Notes 2.4.0.5
Insider Update 2.4.0.5 is now live. As we begin to approach the end of the year and our team begins to take well deserved breaks for the holidays, our remaining builds will focus on bug fixes ahead of January’s update.
As always, if you encounter any bugs, then please head to the
Sea of Thieves support site and let our Player Support team know.
Known Issues
Haunted Forts
- Fort cannons may target the Ghost Ships rather than the player, this is unintended and we are currently investigating this behaviour.
Pirate Emporium
- When performing the Stargazing Emote from the Lodestar Costume, zooming in will move the camera to an incorrect position on the pirate.
Legend of the Veil
- The Legend of Veil is currently in a very early stage of development, and therefore contains a range of prototype artwork, animations, UI, cutscenes and assets throughout the experience. The team are not currently looking for feedback on these clear placeholder areas of the experience.
- Veil Stones slotted into the Veil of the Ancients can become invisible after a player’s death or upon disconnecting. This is visual only and does not affect the ability to complete or make progress on the Voyage.
- Starting the Shores of Gold Tall Tale will cancel the Legend of the Veil Voyage if the Voyage is active.
- Crews migrating servers during the Voyage can cause various issues preventing progress.
Legend of the Veil – Haunted Islands
- Picking up a Flames of Fate will override the Enchanted Lantern.
- When progressing a Haunted Island quest, the placeholder friendly Golden Skeletons are currently able to be damaged and killed by players.
- If the whole crew dies during the Haunted Islands encounter, the quest module will be completed.
- Phantoms do not spawn after lighting the central beacon on the Haunted Islands.
- Phantoms and Ancient Skeletons do not spawn on Haunted Islands after solo crew players die and respawn.
Legend of the Veil – Haunted Forts
- Phantom cannoneers on the Haunted Forts do not currently fire at player ships.
Incorrect Poses in Sitting Positions
- Players may find that some pirates adopt an incorrect hand position when sitting in various places around the world. These pirates should rest with their hands on their knees but may appear to hold their hands in the air.
Unable to start Custom Servers
- Players are unable to start a custom server session.
Cannon Firing Effects
- The recoil animation does not always play when firing a ship’s cannon.
Fixed Issues
General
- Crews will no longer be awarded the ‘Gunpowder, Treason and Plot’ Commendation after setting their ship on fire and instead will need to complete the required criteria.
Pirate Emporium
- The earring on the Lodestar Costume no longer stretches on some pirate body sizes.
- Performing the Stargazing Emote while the Lodestar Costume is equipped should no longer show the players hands intersecting the scroll.
- The Wedding Party Emotes now display appropriate visual effects.
- The Pirate Emporium has been refreshed with updated artwork & imagery.
- When performing the Cut the Cake Emote, the barrel now stays still when the pirate attempts to cut the cake.
Legend of the Veil
- Sequences where the Pirate Lord arrives on players ships now have improved animation timing ensuring he appears and disappears at the correct times.
- Papers held by Sudds to be passed to the player are now removed at the correct time in the sequence.
- Zoom maps presented by Sudds will now show appropriate page backgrounds on both pages.
- The position of the Haunted Islands’ storm has been corrected.
Visual & Audio
- Builds delivered from the Windows Store on both Win10 and Win11 platforms will now once again experience audio across the title.
- When finishing rowing and setting down the oars, the audio effect will no longer play over a much longer distance than intended.
Fireworks
- Player’s first launched firework can now be heard flying through the air.
Buried Treasure
- When attempting to bury in the same spot as a buried item, the tooltip shown while wielding a shovel will now inform players clearly that the item cannot be buried.
- Crews are no longer able to retrieve a buried treasure map from Quest Boards while in an Arena contest.
Sitting
- When sitting on the captain’s chair onboard a ship, switching to the third-person camera will now always move to an appropriate camera position even while the ship is moving.
Sunken Kingdom
- After completing a Siren Treasury and returning to restart the encounter, crews will no longer find the Vaultmaster appear prior to the final wave.
