Insider Patch Notes 2.3.1.1

Insider Update 2.3.1.1 is now live. This Insider’s build introduces a range of quality-of-life improvements. Head to your Vanity Chest to check out the new Dice Emotes or set traps for unsuspecting pirates by burying a lit Gunpowder Barrel. Also, check out the Feast of Bounty Event to earn new cosmetics!

As always, if you encounter any bugs, then please head to the Sea of Thieves support site and let our Player Support team know.

Gameplay Improvements

Moving Resources Between Barrels and Crates

  • Players will now be able to transfer resources more quickly between barrels and storage crates using a held action while holding the crate itself. Transferring more resources will take longer time!
  • Transferring more resources will take longer time, and stealing resources from another crew’s ship will take an extended time – it pays to be stealthy!
  • Players can store resources in a barrel by holding ‘Y’ on controller or ‘R’ on keyboard, or retrieve resources to their held crate by holding ‘X’ on controller or ‘F’ on keyboard.

Talking

  • Players will now notice that while they are using the in-game voice chat their pirate’s mouth will now automatically move and appear like their pirate is actually talking.

Dice Emote

  • Players will now have access to six new dice emotes which can be equipped from any Vanity Chest. Use the D4, D6, D8, D10, D12 or D20 sided dice emote to roll a random number and then zoom in camera to see the number more clearly.

For this Insider’s build, all players have been awarded the Dice Emotes directly to their accounts. Head to the Vanity Chest to equip it!

Burying Treasure

  • Players can now set explosive traps by burying Gunpowder Barrels. Gunpowder Barrels will automatically light their fuse when a player hits them with their shovel. If you hear the hiss of the fuse, run for your life!
  • When stealing a Map Bundle from another crew’s Captain’s Table, the unsuspecting crew will no longer receive a notification indicating that it has been stolen.
  • Items buried by players should now leave the ground where it was buried looking disturbed.
  • When an item is buried within a cave, players should now see a new “X” marks icon when looking at the treasure map to show it is it a cave.

Cannon Rowboats

  • Skeleton Ships should now target and attack Cannon Rowboats, so long as they're manned and not attached to a ship.

Automatically Vote on Proposed Voyages

  • When players propose a Voyage, the player that proposed it will automatically vote for the Voyage. While this new voting mechanic is enabled by default to improve the new player experience, players can choose to disable this using the ‘Auto-vote on Voyage Proposal’ in the settings menu.
