Insider Patch Notes 2.2.1.8
Insider Update 2.2.1.8 is now live. Head to Larinna, pick up a Legend of the Sunken Kingdom Voyage to discover the mysterious key and what It may open! Also, check out the Fury of the Damned event to earn some wicked rewards.

Sunken Kingdom
Legend of the Sunken Kingdom Voyage
- Larinna now offers crews the opportunity to acquire the Legend of the Sunken Kingdom Voyage once having completed all required Commendations for discovering the secrets of the Sunken Kingdom.
Insiders will no longer be offered a free Voyage in their inventories and will now be required to unlock the Voyage the way it is intended.

Disabling Flashing and On-Screen Effects
- Following Insider’s feedback on the game experience implications from the recent introduction of accessibility settings to disable flashing and on-screen effects, we have now disabled these settings while we further iterate on these features.
Known Issues
Sunken Kingdom
- ‘Legend of the Sunken Kingdom’ Voyage – Storing a Voyage item in the Sunken Merfolk Statue will fail the Voyage.
- *‘Legend of the Sunken Kingdom’ Voyage *– Migrating after placing the Mysterious Ancient Key in the ancient table will stop players from being able to open the secret door in the Shrine of Ancient Tears.
- ‘Legend of the Sunken Kingdom’ Voyage – Migrating after placing a Medallion on the plinth will stop players from being able to open the Forbidden Key door in the Shrine of Hungering.
- ‘Legend of the Sunken Kingdom’ Voyage – Placing the Medallion on the plinth in Ocean's Fortune does not open the rock door, blocking progress through the Voyage.
- Loot can float into the air when retrieving it from the Sunken Merfolk statues.
- The mysterious notes for the Sunken Kingdom are missing.
- Sailing too close to the Sunken Merfolk will cause it to despawn until you sail away.
Fury of the Damned
- Players will not receive Favour when completing Daily Deeds.
- There is placeholder artwork and text throughout the event.
Season Four
- The Plunder Pass tab has Season Three’s image.
- A range of Daily, Legendary, Monthly and Seasonal Trials are not tracking correctly for Season Four.
Client Performance
- Players can experience a freeze when returning to the game after alt + tabbing out when playing on the Windows Store version of Sea of Thieves.
Cargo Run
- Players are unable to access the delivery note when starting a cargo run.
Fixed Issues
General
- After defeating an Ashen Lord on Shipwreck Bay loot dropped should now always be accessible.
- The Blunderbuss of Sunken Sorrow should no longer clip with camera when being fired.
- The visual quality of the Golden Nile Cannon should no longer change when a player fires themselfs out of it.
- When the Cannon Rowboat is docked facing left on a Sloop, the aiming of the cannon should no longer be obstructed.
- Using a harpoon prior to server migration should no longer cause that harpoon to become unusable.
- When creating a Custom Server Session, the host can now directly invite friends to the lobby using an in-game option.
- The Sea of Sands Flag has been updated.
- ‘The Sunken Pearl’ – Players should no longer be able to stand inside the Kraken’s head and attack it with a cutlass.
Sunken Kingdom
- A darkening fade visual effect has been added when swimming underwater away from the Sunken Kingdom.
- When returning to an in-progress Treasury event room the previous enemies should no longer remain as the Treasury will have reset.
- A range of environment and collision issues have been fixed within the Shrines and Treasuries.
- Siren windows should now animate correctly when being opened and when they close.
- In Treasuries, the horn signifying a new wave should now play when players reach the final wave.
- The journals within the Shrines, and the Legend of the Sunken Kingdom Voyage scholar’s notes should now have correct and final text.
- Players should now be able to start a Voyage even after picking up a Coral Message in a Bottle.
- ‘Shrine of Hungering’ - Sharks should now spawn correctly in the top chamber
- ‘Shrine of Hungering’ & ‘Shrine of Ocean’s Fortune’ – When retrieving loot from the Merfolk Treasure Statues within the Shrine of the Hungering and Shine of Ocean’s Fortune, the loot should no longer spawn in the terrain and be irretrievable or disappear.
- ‘Shrine of Ancient Tears’ – The water pool level should now reset with the Shrine.
- ‘Shrine of Ancient Tears’ – The beacons within the Shrine should no longer remain lit when a player returns to the Shrine after lighting the beacons, returning to their ship, migrating and returning to the Shrine.
- *‘The Shrine of the Coral Tomb’ & ‘The Shrine of Tribute’ *– After completing the Shrine and migrating servers, the doors should now show the correct open/closed state for all players.
- ‘The Shrine of Tribute’ – Moving the statue and then migrating should no longer cause the statue to visually break.
- ‘Legend of the Sunken Kingdom’ Voyage – Holding the Mysterious Ancient Key and looking at the Forbidden Chest should no longer cause performance issues.
Season Four
- The Vulnerable Weapon Pose should now be received by players when rank one is reached after the Plunder Pass is purchased.
- The Firefly Lantern should now be updated.
- The Capstan of Candles should no longer be missing the fire VFX on the candles.
Fury of the Damned
- The Destroyer of the Damned title should now have the finalised icon attached.
- The descriptions for the Wicked Web figureheads should now show the correct descriptions.
Localisation
- There should now be correct localisation when setting the game language to Turkish.
